The day came when the queen at last summoned Erilyn to her, and on the day before her supposed-to-be wedding, no less. She might have thought that the queen had deliberately decided on the date, but she realized there was no reason to do it. It had timed with the day she was called to check on the progress on her task, that was all.
After her fit yesterday, Erilyn couldn't find the heart to talk to Ren, much to her embarrassment. And besides, she hadn't even wanted to see his reaction about what she had admitted to him. After admitting her feelings, she immediately turned to the door and left the house, desperate for some fresh air.
She hadn't gotten too far from the house when she spotted a Templar. Seeing one wasn't uncommon in any part of Carnelia, but the officer was staring at her. And Erilyn had known that this wasn't a random Templar surveying the outskirts of the kingdom. With subtlety, she walked to the man who she confirmed as the queen's messenger.
