Chereads / The Knight Of Euphemia / Chapter 22 - 24 Competitors, 10 Seeds

Chapter 22 - 24 Competitors, 10 Seeds

Day 88, year 3000.

The day of registration was here. All the house masters had gathered at the library to register their pupils for the upcoming competition.

Henry the Eighth, from the House of Hephaestus. Red Knight, second-tier

William the first, from the house of Ares. Red Knight, third-tier

Theresa Myer, from the house of Thanatos. Red Knight, second-tier

Arthur Pendragon, from the House of Ulysses. Red Knight, third-tier

Joan Romée, from the house of Perseus. Red Knight, third-tier

And to look over the proceedings, we had Rimu Link. A third-tier Red Knight

"Respected Knights, We shall now begin the process of registration for the freshers. You may hand over the registration forms to me. First, we shall begin with Theresa, the youngest of the group."

Theresa Myer. A purple-haired girl appeared to be very pale and thin. Her eyes were violet in color, and her 10 fingers had 8 rings on them, all having a stone carved into a skull at the top, but in different colors.

"Five participants, two seeds."

She handed the list to Rimu, who went through it once and said,

"Two seeds in group A, the rest will be randomly assigned."

She nodded her head.

"Next, Henry."

He raised his voice and said,

"Eleven participants, four seeds."

Adding extra emphasis on the words 'Eleven' and 'Four'.

He looked around to relish the look of shock on the faces of his peers.

Unfortunately for him, they were not as childish as he was. After being proven wrong, his mood soured a little. He started to quietly plan his victory speech with contempt.

"Hmm."

He marked their names and said,

"Four seeds in Group B. The rest will be randomly assigned."

He placed his pen down and said,

"Next up, Joan."

Everyone was paying attention. Last year, she had a one-seeded student from her house, who went ahead and placed fourth in the competition.

"One seed, one participant."

Gwen's report was the key factor.

"Hmm. One seed and one participant."

Rimu was also aware of her student.

"He is a good kid."

He wrote down Gawain's name. Everyone was slightly taken aback.

'If Rimu is praising him-'

Theresa thought.

'Then he must be the real deal.'

Henry completed. They both looked at each other, confirming their thoughts.

Arthur and William kept stoic expressions. No one could know what they were thinking.

"Alright. Group A."

Joan versus Theresa. They both looked at each other.

"Next, Arthur."

He placed his fingers on the registration papers and passed them towards Rimu.

"One seed, 7 participants."

Rimu read through the papers and said,

"One in group A, the rest will be randomly assigned."

There were four seeds in group A and four seeds in group B.

"And lastly, William."

Everyone was looking at him.

'Last year's champion.'

Well aware of the glances, he simply smiled and said,

"Two seeds, six participants."

'24 total competitors, and 10 seeds.'

Joan muttered to herself. This would be difficult.

'First. We will aim for the top spot.'

"One in A, one in B, and the rest will be randomly assigned."

After filling in the first paper, He opened up a drawer and placed it inside.

"Next, we move on to the senior's competition."

'Swoosh!'

"Two hundred and eleven."

He raised his hand and performed another swing.

'Swoosh!'

"Two hundred and twelve."

Celia was eating a vegetable sandwich while counting his swings.

"Two hundred and-"

The door to the chambers opened. Celia placed the half-eaten sandwich in the box and stood up.

"So, our groups?"

Joan looked mentally exhausted. This was the first time Gawain had seen her like this.

"Gawain in Group A, Freshers. You will be in group B, seniors. Now get out."

She was in a bad mood.

"As you wish."

They both left her alone in the chambers. After being lost in thought for a while, Joan succumbed to her fatigue.
