"Ouch"
"Well hold your little ass still and it won't hurt so much damn it".
"Well I'm trying but your being kind of rough can't you be more gentle" she said with slight agony in her voice as a tear ran down her face.
The man before her wasn't her husband he wasn't her boyfriend and she could barely say he was even her friend. Her husband hit her again this time it was in the face. It usually is in the legs and where people wouldn't see if she wore shorts. Always across her thighs and it was long bruises sometimes you would see where he placed his hands and grabbed her. She always bruised easy but the marks were a constant reminder of how she wasn't good enough.
Up until this man in front of her saved her she only lived for one purpose. It was a good purpose, she only lived for her small children that desperately needed her. Mostly to shield them from the wrath their father gave out.
"What did you do to set him off this time. I thought I told you to call the cops. Do you ever listen?"his cold calm voice woke her up from her day dream and she half smiled. " it wasn't me it was the dog and his mom has the kids she said she would watch them for the night and she called the cops. I made a statement ask for the personal protection order but I didn't press charges." She gently rang out her voice almost a whisper not wanting to make the cold man any more angry. She sat still and finished letting him clean the wound on her face from her glasses.
"We will have to get you to an eye doctor to get new glasses." He spoke almost apologetically with a small sigh, his chest waivered. She couldn't tell what he was thinking but she figured he just took pity on her. "We will? Dose that mean you will be taking me to get new ones" her heart almost skipped a beat. She just realized he spoke as if they were a thing not her by herself.
"Damn woman who else would take you? Your husband? He hit you when will the light bulb turn on just because your blonde doesn't mean you can act like a blonde. Yes I will be taking you to get glasses You will be staying here with me. We will be getting the children tomorrow your stuck sweetheart. That was the last straw you gave the divorce papers to him already there's no more working it out. Your mine." He sneered as he said it. His voice was cold but the tone was soft but not sad almost comforting she had a place and she belonged.
"Hehe well fine I'll stay with you but don't regret it and let's get the glasses when my face isn't swelled up. Thank you Henry" she giggled. He was her boss. Even when he was stern with her and tried to be tough on her it never bothered her. He always made her smile even though most people would think he was mean towards her. She always felt comfortable and happy when he nagged. He always put her safety before everyone else's, and always made sure she had everything she needed, all questions answered even if he was cold she never took it to
heart.
