"Eternal darkness is the impending fear of many yet for those in Eclipse City, Darkness is our light. To be a creature of darkness has its challenges forever swarmed in the dark. The people of Eclipse City have developed ways to cope with the constant darkness, this is our story."
"My name's Nicoli, My dad told me it was a fusion of Neko and e-coli just flattering. I was born and raised in Eclipse City, the lack of light City, Ain't life a glorified peach." Nicoli said sarcastically.
Nicoli turned and walked up to his cement front steps, Up to the old scuffed up excuse for a front door turning the dented rusty knob that once was a shiny silver color. He opened the door and stepped onto the filthy rug. Walking through his dark hallway, His eyes could see the dim light of his fireplace. Turning the corner he spots his father hunched in his worn-out chair. Nicoli tried to sneak away but no sooner than he turned to start walking again.
"NICOLI, MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL FOR ONCE AND GET ME MORE FIREWOOD, OR ARE YOU GOING TO MESS THAT UP JUST LIKE YOU MESSED UP THIS FAMILY!" Yelling at him.
"Father of the month right there, Blame me for something that wasn't even my fa-" Nicoli froze as he sees an old cracked photo, A photo that was linked to his suffering. It was a photo of his mom.
Nicoli had little to no memory of his mom, but he had seen her picture many a time; The picture showed her smiling while pregnant. This was the last picture of her that they had, cracked from his father throwing it at him years ago. He ran his hand across the small scar above his right eye-brow, a reminder of his dad's hatred toward him. Placing the photo on the table, Then continued to the backyard.
"If he hated me so much, why did he keep me? Maybe he wanted to make sure my life is as miserable as possible" Nicoli mumbled to himself.
As he grabbed the ax to start chopping the firewood. Gathering up the freshly chopped wood, Nicoli walked back in, His eyebrows twitching in annoyance.
"Here's that wood you wanted… fath-" Nicoli was cut off mid-word as a glass bottle slammed and shattered against the wall rather close to his head, So close in fact that a shard struck him in the face a mere two inches under his right eye. Nicoli stood there frozen in fear as his blood slowly fell down his face.
"DON'T EVER LET THOSE WORDS SLIP OUT OF THAT FILTHY MOUTH OF YOURS, I WILL NEVER BE YOUR FATHER!" The grizzly old man shouted at Nicoli.
"No, No you are not my father, Fathers are supposed to protect and love the children no matter what, If mom were still alive then you'd be a father but you treat me like a monster cuz mom died in childbirth, It wasn't my fault you Fat, Lazy, Child abusing Pig!" Nicoli spat back, A mixture of blood and tears running down his face, The salt from his tears stinging his fresh cut.
With that Nicoli turned and stormed down the old halfway and out the damaged door, Never to return.
