Frowning, I turned away from his piercing gaze, not wanting to admit or disagree with anything.
"Altair, tell me. Why did you suddenly take an interest in Orion?" he asked, refusing to turn away from me. "He did not do anything, in particular, to stand out."
"What do you mean? He has been doing nothing but standing out since I came." I said, in a pathetic attempt to change the conversation.
I do not know why I am cowering right now. But I suddenly do not want to talk about this conversation. He certainly knows more about me than he showed, just how is he able to find all these out?
"But not enough for someone like you to suddenly pay attention to someone him," Comet said, not backing down.
This is certainly turning south for me.
