"I cannot believe you agreed to this." Comet continued reprimanding me as I continued packing the things I am going to be needing in a sheepskin bag. "I thought you wanted Orion to be safe."
"I do," I said, sucking in a breath as I stared at the papers scattered on the table in front of me. "But ... what do you expect me to do? Just say 'no' to Orion?"
"Yes!"
"No." I turned to him, frowning. "I will never say that to Orion unless I am sure it is really, really bad for him to be there."
"How are you even going to carry him?" Comet asked, throwing his hands in the air as I walked over to the shelves filled with herbs in it. "What if something happens and severs the connection? What are you going to do then?"
"Listen," I said, turning to Comet while holding a clump of herbs in my hands. "I understand that you are worried about Orion. But you have to trust that I am going to be able to take care of him."
