Chapter 1 - The Mysterious Rainbow Ticket

The Leene Kingdom is one of the many kingdoms on this continent. This kingdom has prospered for hundreds of years with the help of their allies and magical knowledge.

Magic is widely accepted from the society, and is a part of life from any nations. So it is natural that they have their own place where people can learn more magic.

Magic is universal, and anyone is capable of learning it. It's only limited just how they are sensitive to magic and how talented they are.

Neither is true to Lyon. A peasant from a farming village of this kingdom. Having some capability to use magic, he thought he can become a great mage in the future.

Sadly, he didn't have the sense for magic, nor the talent to comprehend. What he lacks with it however is how much he got diligence and hard work.

He makes up for the fact that he truly desires to be a great mage. Someone capable of causing miracles.

Though, hard work can't surpass talent. No matter how much he tries, he can't really keep up with his peers.

Being a person who can only cast Tier 0 Magic, people began distancing themselves and sometimes, ostracizing him. He is a weak mage aspirant that it's like an insult to their eyes.

A normal mage who can sense magic is capable of at least using Tier 1 Magic. Being at the age of 15, people must at least be capable of a single Tier 3 Magic.

He has been studying on the Leene Magic Academy for three years, and he is still stuck on using Clean and Dry spells. He can't comprehend any of the stronger spells, and can't advance his mana levels enough to be eligible to use other high tier spells.

He is that weak. A useless rock among the diamonds and gems on the ground.

He still hopes for the day that he will overturn this fate. He won't give up until he is old.

The Day of Metal. A day of rest for most people. This is also the day where there are no classes.

Lyon have come out of his dormitory and decided to roam the city. He is hoping for something to give him insights, or anything that can hopefully improve his magic prowess.

"Huh? Isn't that the useless commoner?"

"Ewwww..... he is still in this school?"

"Why is he even attending? It's not like anything will change!"

The words of the students that he passes by hurts and his steps became heavier. His eyes are set forward, forcing himself to endure it and ignore them.

It is a usual occurrence, and has been doing this since then. This is his only way to deal with them.

'Just you wait! I will be the greatest mage in the future!' He hopes internally, more than he wanted it.

As he left the school ground and the voices of insult behind him, his steps turns to another alleyway, thinking of going around there.

This streets is safe and is constantly monitored, so even the alleyways are safe to passed by. He knows it because he has been living on this city since the day of his admittance.

It's just one of his many weekends. Roaming aimlessly and hoping for the best that he somehow bumps into a fortuitous encounter.

He wouldn't have expected to find a colorful slip of paper slowly landing on the paved ground. The paper emitting a dim and colorful shine.

"What is this?"

In his curiosity, he kneeled to the ground and tries to take it. As his fingers took grip of the colorful paper, another hand almost touches his.

Surprised, he turns to his front and see a purple haired woman who have a beauty that can topple a nation. It is a mysterious woman who he have no knowledge of.

'Who is this!? She's more beautiful than the Second Princess!' He thought in shock.

He is planning to speak first, but it seems like the beautiful woman just glances at him before giving him a mysterious smile.

"Welp, I guess you get it." She stood up and says it with a shrug.

Curious, he also stood up while directing a gaze of confusion. Despite her beauty, he can't help but be intrigue at the way she says those words.

"You are now the owner of the simulated growth. I hope you have a great time using it." She says before turning her back without a flair.

Surprised at the suddenness of her leaving, he blurted out the first word that came to mind.

"Wait, who are you!?"

The woman stop. Then she turns her head and glances at him. A mysterious smile on her face.

"You may call me Phantasmic." Her eyes glances at the slip of paper gripped in his hand before turning back to his face. "If you are curious, don't be. You won't see me again after this."

".... What is this?" He asks while raising the slip of paper on his hand.

Her eyes squinted a bit before directing a gentle smile on his way.

"Just call it your luck."

With that, she turns her back and turns into a corner.

"Wait!"

He tries to catch up to her but when he got into a corner, the only thing he saw is the damp paved ground and the crowded street beyond this path.

"What was that?" He mutters to himself in wonder.

He passes the day trying to look for the mysterious woman, his hand still clutching the rainbow ticket.

Having deduced that it might be her possession, he wanted to give it back to her.

He felt a bit bad that she just leave like that when he got this first.

Though seeing that no one truly knows her, he finally gives up.

Inside his room, he is lying on his bed and is staring at the colorful slip of paper in his hand.

Despite being weak at sensing magic, he can still sense it. He just needs to touch it and he will have a vague sense of magic in it.

Though this ticket is not giving him anything. There are no mysterious force within it, and nothing indicates that it is magical or something. It's glowing form is a mystery, and seems to be impossible for a mere magical array.

He is not well-versed on alchemy, but he at least have the basic knowledge that a magical array must be present on it.

'She said this is my luck. What can I use this for?'

He is dubious at her words, and at the same time curious at this ticket. He didn't know whether this is just some elaborate prank or it is truly magical.

Maybe it can overturn his fate?

A small hope blooms within his heart, though his logic says that it's nothing but a sham.

As he thought of using it somehow, the ticket shines brightly, likely responding to his desires to use it.

His eyes widened and the feeling of the ticket has been lost on his finger. He closes his eyes and covers his face with his arms as the colorful light grew brightly. It illuminates his whole room.

Despite the intense fanfare, no one sense any magical disturbances or something. It's like it's just a normal light show without an ounce of supernatural in it.

The colorful light dims and he slowly opens his eyes.

[User ~ Level 1]

A floating panel is in front of his eyes, causing him to gasps in shock.

"What in tarnation is this!?" He yelled in confusion, as his mind whirls at the mysterious thing happening within his eyes.

He didn't know at this time, that this is the power that will make him rise to prominence. Making him known all over the world.
