"Do I really need to go to this extent?" Adam Taylor muttered, knowing full-well that Bernard Taylor was a man of his word. Although Adam was Bernard's older cousin, Bernard's conduct and way of handling affairs had always been much more mature and steady than his own.
Bernard was only a few years younger than him, yet he was already the father of two children, with the oldest attending elementary school. Meanwhile, Bernard was still single, which really made Adam worry for him.
So, how could his aunt not be worried?
"It's not about being competitive, I'm just going to meet someone, someone not related to the group," admitted Bernard truthfully. He certainly hadn't scheduled a meeting with any clients or the like.
"..." Adam understood and left with Bernard, deciding to just go to the company canteen for a meal after all. He had actually hoped to talk Bernard into a finer meal.
