There were some responsibilities she could bear, but she wouldn't take all the blame, especially for what Evelin Clark had done. She wouldn't carry even the slightest bit of that burden.
"You-" Bonnie Jenkins knew that Carolline Ruiz was a quick-witted speaker, but she thought that this time, Carolline would surely do as they said. That was not the case, however.
Carolline would never recklessly admit to wrongdoing.
"Alright, we're all family here. Aunt Bonnie, I know you're upset. Let's just let these words pass. You should rest too. I'll watch over things here," Carolline told Bonnie Jenkins.
"I can't sleep," Bonnie Jenkins refused.
"You should try to sleep anyway. There are still several days to go, and Jasmine needs you. If you break down, how will she overcome this hurdle?" Carolline said, arranging the bed beside her for Bonnie Jenkins to lie down.
