"I'm mad at him, so it's best that he doesn't follow me." In front of Celia, Carolline spoke the plain truth.
"What did your husband do to upset you this time?" Celia paused, wondering how such a caring husband could make his wife angry. It was not easy to do so.
"It's infuriating just to think about it, so let's not talk about it." Carolline waved her hand, not wanting to discuss it further.
Celia never forced her to talk about it. In a short while, her phone rang, and she answered, "…I told you, I quit. …Fine, fine, I know. I will come tomorrow to take care of the paperwork, all right?"
With that, Celia hung up the phone.
"Who are you mad at this time?" Carolline asked as they cooled the soup.
Celia explained after completing her phone call, "My old boss, I've told him I quit, but he keeps pushing me to come to the office to handle some paperwork. I have told him that as soon as I deal with everything here, I will go."
