The call was from Emily Hill.
Even though Carolline Ruiz had been an adult for two years now, Emily Hill couldn't help but worry about her when she was away from home. After all, Carolline was her hard-won daughter, and besides, this was probably a problem all mothers had.
No matter where they were, they always worried like this.
The mother and daughter chatted for a while, and after making sure Carolline was all right, Emily Hill hung up the phone.
Carolline took a deep breath. During the call, she was really worried that Emily would ask if she was at home now. Fortunately, other than caring about her safety, her mother seemed to be quite at ease with whether or not she would spend the night outside.
"Your mom really cares about you," Bryan Hawkins found Carolline's excessively nervous reaction amusing.
"Yeah, I guess all mothers in the world are like that." Carolline laughed happily when talking about her parents.
