There were many guests at the party, some of whom Carolline Ruiz knew, and some she didn't. William Hawkins arrived with Sophie Carlson, as did Edo Holt, whom Carolline Ruiz recognized from the time William had brought him to help her earlier.
She also noticed Bernard Taylor, who was sitting with the group from the Second Hospital and was as conspicuous as always. Avery Graham was there too, but she had accompanied a manager.
Perhaps by coincidence, Avery Graham and the manager were sitting not far from the group from the Second Hospital. Nelson Castillo greeted Avery, but Bernard didn't even glance at her.
Avery introduced Kent Auclair to Nelson, announcing that Kent would play host over the weekend as a gesture of thanks for the group's past kindness towards her.
Nelson, always one to take advantage of a good deal, responded, "Well, then, thank you, Mr. Kent."
