Despite what he had said, the three of them had always lived a happy and simple life together. Most of the time, Henry would quarrel and argue with the old master on behalf of his wife and daughter. This often made the old man infuriated.
Over the years, the old master had truly aged, so Henry would just listen to whatever he said without arguing. When Emily was upset, Henry would spend more time comforting and persuading her to feel better.
"...I understand, Dad. I will call them, and we will come tonight," Emily finally could not help interrupting the old master's chatter.
"Mhm, they have to work, so bring Axel early. Bonnie Jenkins' and Natalie Parton's dishes are not as delicious as yours," the old master added.
