Carolline Ruiz has not been responding to George Edwards because she knows well that a man like George is not someone she should provoke. Men like him, with small-minded pettiness, will surely make her life miserable once offended.

"Do you think I'm afraid of him?" Megan pursed her lips. "Our office room is different. Besides, we are on the same level; there's no reason to be afraid of him!"
"With a baby on the way, watch what you say and mind your prenatal education." Carolline uses every opportunity to school her.
