Joyce Lopez wanted to become someone like that, so she could better please her mother-in-law in the future.
"No need, the business lunch is fine." Bryan Hawkins glanced at Joyce, his expression indifferent as he rejected her offer. He could tell what the young girl meant, but he had no intention of accepting it.
"Brother Bryan—" Joyce's eyes filled with tears. She didn't understand how he could reject her so completely. She just wanted to be good to him, and she planned to devote all her efforts to being good to him and his family in the future.
"Don't waste your thoughts on me. I have someone I like." Bryan stated bluntly.
If his actions weren't enough to make Joyce back off, he might as well tell her directly: she would never have a chance in this lifetime, and he simply wasn't attracted to her.
