It wasn't until Carolline closed the door that Avery started to grumble. She came in just to ask if Carolline was in a relationship, but it was apparent that Carolline had been brushing her off and she didn't get any answers.
After sending Avery away, Carolline hurried to the bathroom, took a hot shower, changed into her pajamas, poured herself a glass of milk, and finally went to bed.
She didn't know if it was because pregnant women tended to be sleepy, but once her eyes shut, she quickly fell into a deep sleep without much effort.
