Carolline could guess what had happened, but she hadn't expected it to happen at this time. She was somewhat surprised and unsure.
Tomorrow and the day after, she had two days off in a row. Emily Hill had planned for her to go home, but she wanted to adapt to living alone as soon as possible, so she refused Emily's offer.
