Over the years, her parents had never objected to anything Carolline Ruiz liked. When she appreciated Bryan Hawkins, even though he was disabled and sitting in a wheelchair, Emily Hill had never said a word to stop her.
So, she could fully understand Emily's current thoughts. The incident she encountered yesterday was something she didn't dare reveal in its entirety, as Emily would undoubtedly be unable to bear it.
"You like him, and mom knows. Anyway, give mom some time to cope with this matter. In the meantime, try to have less contact with him, will you?" Carolline remained silent, so Emily ultimately compromised.
"Mom, don't worry. I'm fine. People say that fortune favors the lucky, and I have great luck…"
"Alright, wasn't it very painful? Talk less." Emily quickly interrupted her and fed her half a bowl of porridge. Carolline couldn't eat any more, so Emily didn't force her.
"Do you want to sleep?" Emily asked after the meal.
