"Avery, have you thought it through?" Avery Graham bid Bernard Taylor good night and was about to close the door when Bernard suddenly placed a hand on the door panel.
"What?" Avery was a bit confused for a moment, having had some wine earlier and was probably a bit tipsy; she didn't understand the meaning behind Bernard's question.
"About us being together," Bernard stated directly, not allowing Avery to feign ignorance.
He now knew that Avery didn't like Michael Auclair at all, which Giselle Browman had told him the other day.
Since she didn't like him, there was no so-called 'transition period'. Therefore, Avery claiming she needed a 'transition period' was just a pretext, basically to avoid him, right?
But now, he wanted a direct answer and wouldn't let her avoid it.
