They watched as Grace Gordon was about to complete a third of her run when a man noticed the switch that held the pile of wood from rolling down.

An iron chain fell instantly. Grace Gordon still hadn't found her footing...and all the wood started to roll away. As she was running on the wood, she let out a surprised scream and fell down with the pile of wood.
Grace Gordon was disheveled by the fall, almost swallowed by the darkness when someone grabbed her.
"Run! Run!" The man spoke with sinister intent.
Grace Gordon pushed hard and her knee landed heavily on the man's most vulnerable area. The man released her with a surprised yelp, clutching his lower body.
Just as Grace Gordon was about to run, a heart-wrenching pain shot from her ankle, causing her to fall to the ground.
