"My name, is Rebbeca Montague. I am 18 years old. I live in Paris, France. Sounds cool right? Well, hate to break it down to you, but it's not. Not if you live with a family like mine. See, my family has a high position on society. They think they are better than any average person in France, only because they have more money and are more respected. They neglect what they call, peasants, and worst of all, they are homophobic. I mean, REALLY HOMOPHOBIC. Homophobia has ruled my home ever since I was a kid. My parents believe that a girl must marry a boy, and in this case, a wealthy boy. I've been pretty annoyed with this idea for years now. Honestly, I don't find anything attractive in boys. For me, they are just "Smelly, sweaty, old rats with dicks." For some reason, I find deeper attraction in...girls. That's right, I am a Lesbian. I'm a Lesbian for as long as I can remember. I find girls just, beautiful, and extraordinary. But, sadly, love has never worked for me. I used to like this girl, who's name was Sofia, she was the smartest in my English Class, she had glasses, blond short hair, freckles, oh she melted my heart. But when I confessed to her, she rejected me, and called me a freak. She said that I was a disgrace and that she never, EVER would become what she called a "Gay parasite". I was truly offended and heartbroken, and I told her that she was a "Stupid Homophobic Nerd." I haven't seen her in a long time since, because she moved to another school. But, I couldn't care anymore, I knew she wasn't the one for me. The only one who actually understands me, and supports me, is my best friend Mercussia. She says that it's only a matter of time, and one day, I might find "The One".
Right now, everything is going pretty bad right now. I wished things were somehow different. But my parents don't and will never understand. They recently befriended this very wealthy family known as the Gorgoners. They also have an only child, a 19 year old boy named Paris. Yep, he is named exactly like where we live. My parents want me to marry him in the future. But I don't want to. I want to be free, and maybe, find the person who I am meant to be with. Even though, I really doubt, someone will even notice me..."
Rebbeca put her pencil down. She closed her journal, and lied down in her bed. Tomorrow, was back to school day. Summer break had ended. Ever since her confession to Sofia, she has been very depressed. Not to mention, her summer break was worse. She had to spend studying in the day time, and going to boring meetings with her parents, to meet some political leaders and celebrities in France. But something she hated the most, was wearing long, exaggerated and elegant dresses. For a tomboy, it's a complete torture. She wished to be someone average, normal. Not the daughter of multi-millionaire parents. Burrowing her face in her pillow, Rebbeca grabbed her blanket and covered herself. "Tomorrow is going to be a good day," she thought, as she closed her eyes and fell asleep.
The next morning, Rebbeca's alarm rang. She wakes up in a rush, combs her short hair, dresses up in jeans, a beanie, leather jacket, and a small tie. She runs down the stairs, and puts on her shoes. A small bark came from behind her. "Ox!" she exclaimed. She hugged her doberman dog. His black spiked collar moved from side to side, as he wagged his tail happily. "Who's a good boy?" asked Rebbeca. Ox barked. Rebbeca patted Ox, and went to the table for breakfast. She sipped her coffee, and munched a butter baguette. "Don't forget your lunch!" said Mrs. Montague. Rebbeca rolled her eyes, and opened her lunch bag. There was a croissant ham-chesse sandwich, some crackers, and apple juice. She packed her bag on her backpack. Rebbeca grabbed a blue leash, and placed it on Ox's spiked collar. She stepped out of the doorstep, and closed the door behind her.
Once outside, Rebbeca took out her phone and airpods. She listened to her favorite tracks in Spotify, as she walked Ox on her way to school.
At school, Mr. Montague was already waiting in the entrance. "Hand him over", said Mr. Montague. Rebbeca, reluctantly handed the blue leash. "See ya' later Ox," said Rebbeca, as she hugged Ox one more time. "Have a good day sweetie," said Mr. Montague. "And make a good impression!!" "Fine I will," replied Rebbeca, rolling her eyes once more. Mr. Montague grabbed the leash, and drove away in his very expensive, Limo. Rebbeca entered into the school, to her next class, Math.
In her Math class, Mrs. Coralie was writing stuff on her chalk board. "Bonjour class," she began. "Take out last month's notes, because we need to continue them. Also, sharpen your pencils and go to bathroom before class starts. Make sure to place your phones on the bin in the right corner. AND, a brief reminder, that in two or three months, this year's Azalea High School Fall Dance, is coming up, so make sure to find a date. Which, I am 100% certain that all of you will, by that time." "Everyone, minus me," thought Rebbeca. "With that being said, let's jump in into last month's lesson, to recap what we have learned so far..."
As Rebbeca walked to social studies, she stared down to her books. When she wasn't paying attention, she suddenly bumped into something...or someone. "Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed. "I'm so sorry, here let me help you." "It's alright, niña," spoke a girl, in a soft tone. As Rebbeca helped the girl stand up, she saw it was a girl. They both stared at each other for around 2 seconds. "My name is Juliet, Juliet Capulet," said the girl. "I'm Rebbeca, Montague, but I prefer to be called...em..Romeo." "Hold on, you are the daughter of the Montague family? The millionaires?" asked Juliet. "Yes, exactly like it sounds," said Rebbeca. "You don't seem to be from here are you?" asked Rebbeca. "No, I was actually born in Cuba," answered Juliet. "My family just moved here, so that I could study in better conditions." "Oh," said Rebbeca. "Good luck with that." "Thanks," smiled Juliet. "Gotta go, now" "What class do you have next?" asked Rebbeca. "English. Why?" "I'm heading near there, want me to take ya'?" "Sure", said Juliet. The two of them walked over to the English classroom. Once they got there, Rebbeca waved goodbye to Juliet, and headed to Social Studies. Rebbeca looked back and blushed. "I think I have just fallen in love." she thought, smiling.
"You are late, Ms. Montague. This is not an acceptable behavior. What caused you to act like this?" asked Mr. Phillip. "I'm sorry Mr. Philip, I was just showing a new student around, I was helping her get to her next class," said Rebbeca. "Hmm, may this be the last time you show up late", said Mr. Philip. "Don't worry Mr. Philip, it won't happen again," assured Rebbeca. "It better not," said Mr. Philip. "Or there will be consequences." "That...won't be necessary," said Rebbeca. She then picked a desk, and sat down. Mr. Philip grabbed a ruler and pointed to the board. "Today we will annotate a narrative story, and we'll highlight important details, to find out what is the tone," said Mr. Philip. "Who can explain what is a tone?" Rebbeca raised her hand. "Yes," said Mr. Philip. "The tone of a story is like the expression or feelings of the author when narrating the story," answered Rebbeca. "Very good, Ms. Montague," said Mr. Philip. "Now open your stories to page 23....."
Once Social Studies class ended, the bell rang. It was time for lunch. Rebbeca stepped out of the classroom, and went to the cafeteria to find a spot to sit on. She saw Juliet, sitting all by herself. "Hey Romeo!" said Mercussia. "Mercussia!" exclaimed Rebbeca. "Long time no see, bestie!" "I know right!" said Mercussia. "Where shall we sit?" "Um...how about over there!" suggested Rebbeca, pointing to where Juliet was sitting. "Sure!" said Mercussia. "She's the new student everyone's talking about, right?" "Yep", said Rebbeca. "That's so nice of you, we can be her new friends!" said Mercussia. "Sure!" said Rebbeca. Mercussia and Rebbeca sit down with Juliet. "Hey," said Rebbeca. "Hey!" said Juliet. " "How is school for you, so far?" asked Rebbeca. "It's going good! I met some nice profesores there!" said Juliet. "What does profesores mean?" asked Mercussia. "Profesores, means teachers in spanish," replied Rebbeca. "Ohh. So are you mexican or something?" asked Mercussia. "No, I'm Cuban," said Juliet. "Oooh, I see now," said Mercussia. Just then, a boy with a backwards cap, and silver piercings, sneakers, ripped jeans, and a gold chain came across them. He and his 2 friends got closer to their table. "Hey look, it's the nerd from Mrs. Larson!" said the boy. "She looks so fucking stupid, the clothes, ugh. We are not like in Mexico or something." "I know, Damian, spanish culture sucks," said his other friend. "I'm Cuban!" said Juliet. "Shut the fuck up, nobody cares," said Damian. "How dare you talk to her like that!" yelled Rebbeca. "Perhaps, it's better not to fight, we could get in trouble!" said Mercussia. "Yeah, listen to your friend over there. Mercussia, MEDUSA!!" said Damian. "OH, YOU FUCKING SON OF A BITCH!!!!!" yelled Mercussia. "YOU BETTER STOP RIGHT NOW!!" said Rebbeca. "What are you going to do, LESBIAN??!!" said Damian. Upon hearing the term, Rebbeca stood up. She ran towards Damian, and punched him in his face. He crashed to a nearby wall. He looked up, and suddenly, Rebbeca attacked him fiercefully. Damian begged for her to stop, and that he was sorry, but Rebbeca did not listen. "Rebbeca please stop!!" said Mercussia. "I'LL MAKE THIS PIMP PAY FOR INSULTING HER!!" said Rebbeca. She beated Damian to the floor, ti'll he started to bleed. "AND IF YOU SAY ANYTHING, I'LL DO SOMETHING THAT WILL MAKE YOU REGRET YOU WERE EVER BORN!!" said Rebbeca. Damian and his friends ran away, traumatized. Rebbeca sighed. "Are you okay?" asked Rebbeca. "Yes I'm fine, gracias." said Juliet. Juliet hugged Rebbeca. Rebbeca blushed a bit, and hugged her back. "What were you thinking?! We could have been caught!" exclaimed Mercussia. "Yeah, but we didn't," said Rebbeca. "I'm just telling you to be careful, I'm you're best friend after all." said Mercussia. "True," said Rebbeca. "At least I gave those assholes a lesson they won't forget." "Yeah", said Juliet. "You were...really brave out there." "You think so?! Err...I mean...you think so?" said Rebbeca. "Of course", said Juliet. Rebbeca blushed again. "Thanks, said Rebbeca. "You're welcome," said Juliet. The bell rang. "It's time to go to my next classes", said Juliet. "Which do you have next?" asked Rebbeca. "Science," said Juliet. "I have it too!" said Rebbeca. "Great! Let's go!" said Juliet. Both of them waved goodbye to Mercussia, who had Math next, and walked to all the way to the science classroom.
