'What did he called me?! His girlfriend? Did I hear him right?' Celine couldn't help but think and questioned what she heard. As far as she knew, she was single, she had some suitors back when she was still alive but she didn't feel anything special for them, not enough to agree to be in a relationship, so no, she didn't have a boyfriend as far as she knew.
So, why was this handsome guy spouting nonsense?
"She'll be fine. It's to be expected that she'll be in shock and disoriented of what happened to her. So expect her to not quickly remember certain things, or she won't be able to recall some of those memories back for some cases, but physically, she's quiet okay. Besides the head gash, and injuries that could heal in a few days, she's okay." The doctor told the handsome guy., reassuring him.
"So, that's the reason why she's looking at me now like she doesn't know me?" The handsome guy asked with sadness and worry.
'Dude, you're really a stranger to me!' Celine thought to herself but didn't voice it out loudly. What's the point? They won't hear her anyway.
The doctor nodded. "Yes, but it'll return to her gradually as the shock dissipates from her mind. Now she needs moral support."
"I understand." The handsome guy said as he nodded.
Celine widened her eyes like saucers when the handsome guy suddenly approached her.
He was looking straight at her! And he held her hands?!!!
She repeat, this handsome guy held her hands!!!
He was holding her hands with both of his and he looked at her as if she was the most precious thing in the world!!!
Wait!
That meant, she was not dead and she was not a ghost lurking here watching these people talk about her!
That was when Celine snapped out of her foolish thoughts. Since she was not dead afterall.
She survived the stampede!
Guess it's true, bad grass doesn't get easily killed, or so the saying goes. Since she was the odd one out in her family, so she might be actually called a blacksheep right?
And blacksheep were survivors!
Blacksheep rules!
And then she get her rallying mind in the present to clear things up. Just to make sure. Celine didn't really want to celebrate her being alive and then she'd be disappointed in the end.
So, Celine looked straight in the eyes of the handsome guy in front of her. He was really so handsome and so familiar. Maybe she really knew him, maybe a schoolmate at the university, but one thing's for sure, he was not her boyfriend or that was what she knew.
How could she have a handsome boyfriend that she didn't know about?
She was not that oblivious okay?
Celine blinked when she couldn't take anymore how conscious she was feeling while looking eye to eye with this handsome guy.
She could feel herself blushing! Her face was so hot she could fried an egg on it!
She cleared her throat and chose to stare on his forehead instead, above his eyes, so she wouldn't feel so conscious while she talk to him and clear things out.
"So, I'm still alive? I thought I'm dead already since I woke up with pure whiteness surrounding me." Celine said almost shyly and hesitantly, her voice was still a bit low due to her just being awoken from her unconsciousness and she hasn't had the time to drink a sip of water. Her throat felt dry.
And the moment she mentioned about dying, the handsome guy's eyes started to mists and turned red.
He was about to cry! Celine thought.
The handsome guy looked up to the ceiling as he composed himself, as if trying to stop himself from crying. After a while, when he finally composed himself, he looked back at Celine, the rim of his eyes were a bit red now.
If there was a guy who still looked handsome while he was about to cry, it would be this guy.
Celine felt him squeezed her hands that he was still holding. "Thank god you're alive, so please don't think or mention about being otherwise. I don't think I could bear the thought of you being gone."
Celine couldn't help but be touched! This handsome guy, he was so sweet! Even if it was still not clear how they became boyfriend and girlfriend, but if she would ever choose a guy to be her boyfriend, it would be someone as caring, thoughtful and sweet as him!
Celine frowned as she kept her thoughts in order, trying to remember what happened to her. All she really remembered was being shoved and then flattened and stampeded on the ground, she could even remember people's shoes and feet stepping on her, and then finally everything went blank and then the next thing she knew, she woke up in this white room that was obviously a hospital.
"What happened?" She finally asked. Since she wanted to really know how lucky she could be that she ended up being alive and also in the hospital.
The handsome guy looked at the doctor, as if asking if it was okay to tell her what happened.
"It's best for Celine to get some rest and not stress too much on anything. She just got out of a traumatic experience, afterall." The doctor advised.
But Celine shook her head. "Please, I really want to know." She looked pleadingly at the handsome guy that was her boyfriend.
"Okay, fine. Maybe it's better if you know, but if it feels like you can't take the shock or you feel like you can't bare to listen to what happened, just tell me and I'll stop telling you." Her handsome boyfriend said even if the doctor was a bit reluctant to agree. But since Celine insisted, they couldn't really do anything about it.
They wanted Celine to not be stressed afterall, and if they refused her request, she might feel more stressed with thinking too much about what really happened to her.
"Celine, you were in a car accident. The police said that your car was flipped upside down, your driver and bodyguard didn't survived and they were already gone when they got here in the hospital, your assistant is in recovery and she also got a lot of injuries from the broken glasses, like you, she had a head injury, but yours was the worst because everyone thought you won't be able to make it, you even stopped breathing for a few seconds before they revived you." Her handsome boyfriend explained, his eyes started to tear up again.
And Celine was confused!
'What car accident?! She died in a fan stampede for crying out loud! Can't the police get something straight!? '
