"Christian...Christian…" A small whisper nudges me from my dormancy trying to wake.
Becoming alert I try to move my hand to my face. Tugging at first and then a stern pull before I catch on that I am tethered to a hospital bed moving my arms up and down.
My left eye has been taped up I could feel something pressing in the inside of my eyelid to keep it in place, staggering to sit up in I find someone has been waiting for me to wake. Who was that familiar voice that got me pulled me out of that trance…?
"Welcome Christian to the Saint Clara Dover Hospital." The voice states as they pull back the white curtain revealing a man dressed in a long white lab coat.
He combed back his black hair with his fingers before taking the glasses clinging to his black shirt and rubbing them on his jeans and placing them on his face.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"I am Doctor Silas…" He explained.
Getting up from his seat, he pushes me back on the bed lifting his knee to boost himself up to check my other eye, he fishes out the flashlight out from his pocket.
Shining it in my eye for a few seconds before sticking it back into his pocket. I let out a silent sigh in relief laying back getting a feel for my new dimly lit room.
"I swear I heard my friends, how did I get here?"
He turns away to review the pages of what looks like a normal notebook perhaps a log?
"Oh...them…"
"What do you mean by that?" I shout.
"Thanks to you, we were able to get at least one of your fellow-clansman."
"What?" I yell shaking the bed, it squeaks as I try to break from my restraints.
Twisting his head he displays to me the syringe in his hands pushing the liquid out through the needle, I decided to settle down; I could hear him place the item back down on the table.
"Calm down...she is fine…"
"She…" I say to myself thinking for a second all of a sudden thinking about Chara or possibly Alice?
Strolling over Silas shows me a picture on his phone, a light-green-haired woman dressed in a dark green maid dress struggling against two black-suited men.
"Chara!" I cry out.
Stuffing the device back into his pocket, I notice a silhouette lurking around the doorway.
"Come in!" Doctor Silas shouted.
"Oh the 'Igor' is finally awake is he?" The voice stated.
"Igor? Are you talking about me?" I questioned confused.
"You are under a fancier label because no one wants to be called a lackey anymore!" She explains with a smirk.
"Whatever you got under my eye at least take it out please!" I begged as my other eye winces in pain. It constantly rubbed and scratched the inside of my eyelid.
"Oh, you mean the eye caps used for funeral homes?" Silas responded, "Are you in pain?"
"F-funeral homes? Why would you be using that?" I argued. "Oh wait I remember you!"
"You know my brother so likewise brat." She answered.
"Brother?" I commented.
Getting a good look at Everly she has the same white hair as Everett. She has a smaller frame with almost a similar facial structure, but she is human dressed in a long orange uniform donning an identical cap.
"You are a bit of a psychopath when that eye is activated, so no," Everly mentioned.
"You seriously going to leave me like this?" I inquired pulling the restraint up.
"You should be taking it easy," Everly said. "You are in a private facility."
"Private?" I trembled thinking about why here of all places.
"The witches are chanting to resurrect the veil again," Everly responded bringing out a cigarette bringing it to her lips. It hangs on the tip of her lips.
"Why? Why are you repeating endless cycles of the red sky?" I asked.
Getting up from her position she kneels against the bed pulling me up by my collar, my head tilts back as my shackled hands didn't leave me much room to be lifted from the bed.
She looks into my opened eye, bringing her face as close as she can examining something I couldn't see or something I couldn't acknowledge anyways.
"Doctor Silas already looked!" I answered.
"Shut up please..."
Everly knocks me on the bed walking over to Silas talking privately, she opens the door slamming behind her; I look over at Doctor Silas completely baffled.
"Don't worry about it...it's just her time of the month," Silas replied waving his hand in the air.
"What is going to happen to me here?"
"You are going to just relax and rest Christian, that is all."
"Tell me the truth!" I plead.
"For now that is the truth, we're not going to dissect you or do anything brutal. All I ask is you be calm and stay quiet and use this time to rest…"
"For now…" I sigh.
I end up trying my best to fall asleep again in the midst of everything, it's not like they will let me out any time soon as I lie there bound.
Not being able to really rest has been the worst as I hear the sounds of feet shuffling at the door with my eyes closed, the door clicks open.
"Hello, I am the new nurse." A soft voice says.
"Oh yes I heard, but one problem is that you would have heard this room is off-limits," Silas said with a threatening tone.
Trying to bend over from where my bed was placed was hard enough, I lean over to the edge, I strained to see who was there.
"My mistake Doctor, please excuse me." The woman replies.
Her heels could be heard clacking against the floor tiles as she leaves the room, I could hear Doctor Silas inhale and exhale before slowly sitting back down.
"Will you be here all the time?" I asked.
"You can't be here alone by yourself."
My stomach growls loud enough that Silas could hear it too, I make a nervous smile.
"I will call the kitchen up to see if they have anything ready." He says.
"Thank you, I literally haven't eaten in days I think!" I explained.
"I will be back okay?" Doctor Silas states.
"It's not like I can go anywhere!" I cry out.
"You really don't seem that bad as they painted you."
"It's because I am not!" I say lamenting my capture.
Silas leaves, I am stuck with the constant hum of machines in the background in a string of consistent beeps, fizzing electrical noises even pings.
I didn't even notice my finger clipped in a pulse oximeter till seconds ago causing a deep panic inside of myself to stir, but instead I close my eyes.
Controlling my breathing is all I could think that very moment and time to keep calm.
"Are you going to lie here all day or do you want to leave?" The voice asks.
The same nurse from earlier stomps her foot against the ground by my bed looking down at me, I gawk at her for a moment before I notice whose face it is through the makeup and nurse's outfit.
"Alice!" I yelled happily.
She hastily unbuckles my restraints taking my hand to help me up from the bed, I pull the clip off my finger; we swiftly dart for the door running out to the hallway.
"It was lucky I saw that annoying doctor make his way for the kitchen!" Alice comments.
We make our way down the steps running as fast as we could, Alice bent down adjusting her heel when out of nowhere she is knocked down the steps by a neon blue blur of light.
"Alice!" I shouted.
Looking back to see Doctor Silas with his hand out holding a tray in his hands. Alice holds her heel up smiling from her crouched position.
"You are seriously stupid if you didn't think I wouldn't notice!" He argued.
