"Don't be shy!" Steel shouted.
"No! I don't even know you! Why would I let you do that?" Clarence argued.
Removing the blankets she tried to remove his gown, Mateo thrust his fist into the back of Steel's head several times before she stopped.
"What the hell did you do that for?" She yelled back.
"Be respectful! Mateo shouted.
"Oh…right…I am sorry Clarence." Steel apologized.
"Do your job so he can rest you pervert!" Mateo scolded.
"When you are done Steel…can I have a word with you?" Silas smiled.
She blushed at the mere sight of his friendly smile, he was not bad looking but had a horrible reputation for experimentation.
"I…can?" She stuttered.
"The princess isn't so cocky now it seems." Mateo laughed.
Turning back to Clarence she felt something was off, despite Silas being human he was like no other human in existence as scary as him. He also is known as a mage, but not in the same respect as Steel herself.
"Steel I am going to leave you with Clarence a little bit," Mateo stated.
"Clarence, please open up a little okay?" Silas smiled.
He says nothing to Silas making her even suspicious of the man, she had met him in the past but never liked him enough to care. Curling up in the mint green blankets expressionless Clarence was waiting for Steel to act.
"You don't have to do anything…" Clarence whispered.
"Who do you think I am?" She shouted.
"What do you mean?" He replied.
"I want to help, but I need you to tell me the truth!" Steel argued.
"Silas told us a bogus story…my magick works with logic. I can pinpoint the pain and help you if you tell me what happened!"
He ignored her words, refusing to answer her, Steel got on the hospital bed lifting her knee to reach over to touch him with her pointer finger. She gives him an angry face making him open his eyes to gaze at her.
"Why won't you let me help you?"
"Cause I don't need your help…"
"You look sickly though, do I intimidate you?"
"Yes…"
She clears her throat giving a small smile, taking his hand. She notices the patchy blotches on his palm, his face twinged pink upon her examination.
"Vampires aren't exactly immune to diseases after all…by dirty people it seems…" Steel stated.
His eyes pop open, scooting back he is shocked she could tell just touching him. His heavy breathing was audible, making his whole body tremble.
"How?"
"You are a new vampire I see." She noted.
"I didn't want anyone to know…"
"We're alone, please trust me, I want to help you," Steel asked.
A spinning wheel of light projects from her hands, Clarence cried out in pain as the spell worked on him boldly. He collapsed in her arms till he was only huffing with his eyes closed.
"That man that claims to be your father can't escape the truth…"
"He…he is…all I got…" Clarence sobbed.
"Let me be something more to you…Clarence…" She whispered.
Shaking him lightly he doesn't respond, the door opens spooking Steel. Silas grinned, helping the young vampire with her new friend to lay down scanning parts of his body. Steel instantly puffs her cheeks, stomping her foot firmly on the ground.
"If you knew what type of magick I carried you wouldn't have lied to me!" Steel shouted.
"Excuse me?"
"Steel, stop causing trouble!" Mateo scolded.
"Master!" She yelled.
"No it's fine, she is merely mistaken is whatever she thinks is all. She is new right Mateo?" Silas noted.
"You are doubting my healing magick!" Steel growled.
"That's enough Steel!" Mateo reprimanded.
"When he is rested I want you both to be good friends…" Doctor Silas explained.
"I am not doing it for you!" Steel declared, "I am worried about him…the idiot…"
She runs out the exit kicking the equipment, knocking the beds over, and entangling the cords till she is caught by the staff. Kicking her legs up she slammed herself into the members Mateo grabbed her from behind in an attempt to defuse her anger in the wake of her destruction.
"Master Mateo let me go!" Steel grunted.
"What is wrong with you? You know Doctor Silas!"
"You don't listen to me anyway!" She screamed.
"Tell me what's wrong!"
"She is just having a tantrum, she is much too young still…" Silas stated.
Thrusting her hands out to her side, she readied her fangs and nails letting her fingers form claws using all her might to push Mateo away, dragging her feet out.
"What has gotten into you!" Mateo yelled.
"This bastard is sick!" Steel fought back.
"You don't know what you are talking about as a child," Silas replied.
A thundering growl grew under her breath, all she could think about was how her magick and how it took apart his pain. She knew what had happened to Clarence.
"We're going home, Steel!" Mateo howled.
Swinging her arm back Mateo lets go, Steel takes her arm back gradually letting her fangs retract back into place.
"When will Clarence be awake?" Steel asked.
"Most likely in hours, my daughter Ria is coming to meet the new family member," Silas answered.
Step by step she walked over to Silas slamming her fist into his fist letting his tiny structure hit the tiled floors. Mateo is stunned at Steel's audacity.
"Fucking do something like that again to that kid and I will kill you!" Steel warned.
"STEEL!" Mateo cried out.
"Punish me later Master Mateo, but I swear my magick doesn't lie!"
Storming off down the hall, Mateo assists Silas in getting back up on his feet. He looks ashamed of his rising pupil who punched their contracted secondary doctor.
"Doctor Silas, I will do anything I can to fix this…I have never seen her get this way before."
"She is merely stressed and worried about my boy Clarence, let her be Mateo…"
"I am really sorry though!" Mateo replied.
"Tomorrow is another day, she will come around."
