Chapter 36 - Sibling Tussle

The punch that had been aimed at Fenrir's jaw was swiftly evaded, and the wolf responded by releasing a powerful kick; of course, Jörmungandr dodged it, his entire body contorting like a snake before he quickly retreated.

Immediately, he ducked a punch, returning a haymaker into Fenrir's torso. A groan spat from his sibling along with spit, and with his feet digging into the ground, he was pushed back due to the blow.

A strength stat of 97 and an agility stat of 102 wasn't a joke.

However, for what he lacked in comparison to his elder brothers frankly ridiculous agility and strength, Fenrir's constitution and self-regeneration were just as borderline disturbing.

[CONST: 287]

[ERROR! You have encountered an imperishable foe! The damage afflicted to Patron [Fenrir] will be resolved...]

The bruise faded away like a bad dream, and the internal damage was immediately resolved. A grin that could only be described as wolfish spread across Fenrir's face, while Jörmungandr pouted a little—that was cheating.

Was it because Ragnarok hadn't started? No damage lasted on him, not that Fenrir had much luck inflicting damage on him either...

He lurched towards his older brother again, and Jörmungandr readied himself, his body tensing and his eyes narrowing; he was more troublesome than he'd thought.

Meanwhile, in the eyes of the spectators, they were wondering how either of the their respective Patrons were matching up with each other. The fact that the blur of Jörmungandr and the blur of Fenrir were actually able to see each as they fought was ridiculous, the only times their Patronage being able to see them was when the rhythm was broken by certain moves and standstills.

While they threw each other around the entirety of the little ring, kicking up sand and snow, grappling with each other and for purchase on the ground, the gap between humans and Patrons was being fully realized by the spectators:

There was no way they could beat them.

If all of them were to try to fight them, they'd be killed in an instant with this "sibling tussle", and the same was for if they ever interfered. Though they stood a good 10 feet away from the outside of the ring, occasionally a body would slam into a nearby tree, and the sibling would brush it off as nothing before returning to scuffle in earnest.

As the difference was made clear, the fear and admiration the humans held for their Patrons only grew; thank heavens they were on their side...

Just imagining what would happen if they weren't made them shudder with fear—to think that a friendly sibling tussle between the brothers practicing their newfound martial arts would be the inspiration for such a change.

And so, the days ended peacefully, the siblings unaware of the storm brewing on the other servers, and amongst the other Gods who'd learnt to fear...
