The System was nervous as she fiddled with the system controls for Nine Kingdoms, her multicolored eyes seeming to glitch like a computer as she checked the settings—for the 8,904th time in the past hour.
Honestly, no matter how many times she'd created a system and started a new game, there was always that vague anxiety that something would go wrong, that someone would be unsatisfied and try to overthrow or beat her—which was rather common now that she thought about it, but still nerve-wracking for the god.
Of course, something always did go wrong, and someone was always dissatisfied, so she tried to remind and convince herself as that, but it never worked, just like now.
Glitches made things more interesting she supposed, and no matter how perfect her system is human nature will likely stump it at some point or another, so she was just left hoping that there wouldn't be too many for her to handle.
But enough about her system, where were those Norse siblings?!
Seriously, she woke all of them about an hour ago—not without incident for any of them—and had been waiting for them since. Did they not want to watch the countdown with her...?
The System felt robbed; no one had ever watched the game countdown with her, and just when she was finally going to be able to watch it with someone, they suddenly chose to not watch it! Tears of bitterness reddened her eyes as she exclaimed, "Oh, why isn't anyone here?!"
"I'm here."
"ACK!"
The System whipped around, only to see Hel sitting in a pretty black dress that showed off her pale collarbone, sipping on tea in that uniquely elegant manner that was hers and hers alone.
A big smile crossed over the Systems face and with sparkling eyes she slammed into Hel, sobbing, "Oh Hel, you're the only one for meeeee!"
"What in Midgard are you talking about?"
"Oi, what's with the fuss? I get up only to see my older sister being harassed by a god—do you wanna die System?"
"F-Fenrir!" the System exclaimed, hastily zooming away from Hel who began to fix her crinkled clothes, and meekly replying to the disgruntled wolf, "No, I-I'd rather not, hehe... A-Anyway, thanks for coming to the launch! Um... where's Jörmungandr?"
"Older brother?" Fenrir casually relaxed in one of the inn chairs, signaling a waiter to bring him some food before he continued, "He's probably outside. He's not used to social gatherings of this nature—he and I much prefer to be with the wind and the air rather than in this wood."
"Oh c'mon!"
At least the System had some companions for the game launch...

Meanwhile, Jörmungandr was sleeping in the midnight fields, the soft sounds of the world lulling him into a beloved rest...
