After that small chat with Alfreda, they went hunting near their camp. They didn't find anything too close, so they were a bit frustrated and went a bit further. Since the dungeon had closed, the monsters had nowhere to go and were scattered around the desert, maybe that was the reason it was hard to them? Well eventually lady luck was on their side, as they found a group of iron scaled Kangaroos. Arlo was salivating while looking at them, their thighs looked like drumsticks to him, so he went charging head on without having a plan.
"Wait brother!!!!!"
Alice noticed his movements were different than before, he seemed more agile and his steps made him look like he was almost hovering over the sand, no footprints were left behind him as he made his way forward.
"EXECUTION"
In the blink of an eye all the kangaroos were lying on the sand and it looked like Arlo teleported past them. Alice had no idea what just happened, she was confused because she'd never seen anything like that.
"Brother, what was that just now?!?!?"
"Kekekeke, so you want to know? Then pay me $_$"
...….
They took a kangaroo and decided they should head back before it turned night, Arlo only brought back one kangaroo on his back, since that was all he could carry and that was definitely more than enough for them. They didn't get lost, so it was quite easy for them to get back to the camp. As they get closer, they see Alfreda sitting down with a bored expression, she noticed them soon and her face began to brighten up.
"Come on guys, hurry up! I'm starving"
Once they made their way in the camp, Alice started to peel the golden eggs (potatoes) and Arlo payed attention closely.
"Look brother, this is how you peel them. Do you want to try" said Alice with an expression of good expectations.
Arlo nodded and started peeling away. He found it very fun and went a bit overboard, some were shaped like stars and half moons, others were simple like circles and triangles. Alfreda went to check on Arlo and saw the mess he had made.
"Well that's… Unique" said Alfreda jokingly.
"By the way, what's this? It looks like a square inside if a square???" Said Alfreda with a questioning expression.
"That's a tesseract you fool!!!!!"
Meanwhile Alice was almost done cutting the golden eggs into small sheets and was getting ready to check Arlo's progress. She heard Alfreda calling out to her.
"Hey Alice!!! Mind taking a look at what Arlo's doing???"
Alice made her way to them. When she arrived, Alfreda pointed at the tesseract , but Alice ignored it and was focusing on Arlo's hands. They had cuts everywhere, he wasn't careful at all with the knife.
"Oh gosh, brother we need to patch you up before it gets infected" said Alice with a concerned expression.
Arlo was confused and looked at his hands. He answered with "Nothing some good old linen cloth can't fix. Don't worry I'll wrap my hands"
Alice was relieved and took a look at the shapes he had made.
"Wow, that's cute brother. I can't wait to eat them"
"What about this?" Said Alfreda while still pointing at the tesseract.
Alice ignored her and told Arlo to prepare the meat, he happy obliged. He Drained the blood and took out the guts, before cutting it up in parts. He decided that they'd cook the liver and thigh today, but he asked the others first if they wanted the same. They had no objections, so They started cooking.
"Alright Arlo, first we'll need to boil the golden eggs in the pot. Then we'll tenderize the liver by smashing it with this hammer. After that we'll cook it together with some crying bulbs (onions) that Alfreda found in her pouch recently. Lastly we'll roast the thigh on a stick over the campfire"
Arlo had trouble paying attention, so he just followed along to what she was doing. Cooking with Alice was very fun for Arlo, he made some mistakes and burned a piece into charcoal, but they just had a laugh at it. They didn't take a long time to finish the dish and Alfreda blessed the food before they started eating it.
"Woah, this is delicious brother. I'll eat this every day if you made it"
"I agree. Though I don't think I'd eat it every day" said Alfreda while trying to figure out how to eat that tesseract.
Arlo didn't taste anything, but he got a thumbs up from the abyss, so it must have been delicious.
After they finished eating, it was getting pretty late so everyone said goodnight to each other and went to their tents. Arlo stayed out and looked at the stars, he got interrupted by the abyssal voice after a while.
"SO YOU KEPT PART OF YOUR PROMISE. I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT, BUT I GUESS I COULD TRUST YOU A BIT" Said the abyssal voice with a joyful tone.
"I'LL GIVE YOU A NAME YOU CAN ADDRESS ME WITH. JUST CALL ME…. UM… LET'S JUST GO WITH ALDERMAN FOR NOW"
It looked like Arlo couldn't keep the power for now so he was relieved and tried to take a nap.
The next few days were uneventful, nothing that stood out happened and they used the rest of the kangaroo as food and cooking practice for Arlo. Before they knew it they had arrived at orange stone gorge. It looked spectacular, but they they were too intrigued by what was in the sky to pay attention to the ground. Flying in the sky was cone shaped metal object, holding up some kind of ship under it and smoke emitting out the back. They had no idea what it was, but it was obviously some kind of steam powered zeppelin.
At the front of the ship the notice a person in white military like attire. His hat was lightly placed on top of his head and had some sort of sea shell symbol on the center. His hair was short and sliver, there was also a monocle was placed over his left eye. His eyes were sharp and slightly closed, they had a nice dark blue colour. His face was very attractive, more on the pretty side than handsome and he had a proud posture with his back straight abd his arms crossed. He had lots of badges on the left side of his coat and a pocket on the right. He was wearing gloves on his hands and boots he was wearing were quite long, making him look taller than he is.
Alfreda looked up at him and said "Oedipus???"
