That was quite a statement coming from Aila considering she used to be afraid of Zale. That seemed to have changed quite some time ago but when had it changed this much?
And why? Because he wasn't as bad as some other noble she could have been married off to? He knew she never expected anything as frivolous as love. For someone who grows up knowing they are destined to be in a loveless marriage, comfort and stability were the best things to hope for.
Zale was relieved she seemed to have found that here. His efforts to be a better husband were paying off.
"That is a relief to hear," he admitted before inwardly cursing himself for saying what he was thinking out loud. She was going to judge him for it, wasn't she?
