the road had been anything but quiet so far, to make matters worse, the noise was coming from my own group.
I had lost count of how many eye rolls, sighs, and faceplams I'd done ever since we'd left the tavern.
Raya and the elf were bickering over me, seriously? and the large brute was just hanging on Rayas every word.
it truly was pathetic to watch.
I'd started giving myself distance from the group, going from walking five feet behind them at first to now at about twenty feet behind.
thanks to my hearing it was still like I was five feet away, damn these senses!
but I could only complain internally, every interruption I'd made only seemed to worsen things, in other words, I'd learned to shut up and stay back.
luckily for me though the trip to supply wouldn't take long, only being a few miles down the road from the tavern, unluckily for me I'd be stuck with these four or three for quite a while if I didn't do anything about the situation, maybe I should just leave silently and make it on my own.
the second the thought crossed my mind Raya stopped walking.

the other two looked at us in bewilderment, they had no idea what was going on, maybe I should clue them in.

the large brute just looked on like normal, his normal, and the elf girl was starting to strip.
"you can use mine anytime you like."(elf girl) told me seductively while two seconds away from complete nudity.
I sighed heavily and just launched myself into the sky, wings open and flapping to keep me airborne, I feel like leveling up right now and staying away from those two.
I began drawing in air, power condensing in my throat as I blasted a roar of challenge, the primal and guttural sound echoing throughout the forest, roars of response echoing back quieter but still audible for me.
the brute and the elf were panicking on the ground as Raya just looked up at me with a look of 'really?'.
with a closing of my wings I careened back towards the ground, landing with no problems and dusting myself off.
"you have about thirty seconds to hide, there's alot of incoming and pissed off creatures."(syn) I informed them.
"how many?"(Raya)
I closed my eyes and focused my ears, visuals accompanying the sounds as I concentrated.
"roughly 140."(syn)
Raya sighed at me before grabbing the other two by the ears and dragging them away, stopping at what she thought was a safe distance, I nodded that it was and stood my ground, the rumbling only getting more intense.
I opened my stats before the rumbling got close, I need to make sure I know about every ability, I'm not the same cocky asshole I was five years ago.

looks like everything I have will evolve at some point, everything except my human form, it was my most used and most basic of abilities, I thought it would at least have a chance to evolve, but I guess it really did get a downgrade from being able to shift into multiple creatures.
now done studying everything I had now I closed the screens.
I was thinking of using authority to have them stand still as I killed them, but it was a bit too weak for me to think that it would work, brute strengthing it was always my main go to, I could always just tweak that.
now done strategising I turned my head to the source of the rumbling, the angry Mish mash of stampeding creatures nearly on top of me at this point.
jumping into the air I twisted and aimed myself downward, I was flat I the air as I charged and released an energy blast, decimating the center of the stampede of creatures.

I was so stunned by the news that I missed the fact that I was free falling, coming out of my shock right at the moment I was about to be impaled by a horn, I grabbed it with both hands and pushed myself backwards, going farther and faster than I meant to and impacting a whole bunch of creatures behind me, the impact killing a group of large crocodile lookinf things.

"HEY COME BACK!"(syn) I called out, but nome of them listened, taking off into the forest frantically.
