Chapter 80 - exploring that strange energy

figuring that someone I knew would find me eventually I walked off into the nearby woods of the trailer park, I honestly couldn't belive the family Celeste was using a trailer park, it blew my mind more than the fact of me being from earth and pretty much none of this existing there.

slowly passing trees, bushes, boulders, and various other things you'd typically see in the woods I started passing other things.

snakes on fire with horns, rabbits with wings, insects with limbs and bodies larger than mine,

and foxes that had metal plates growing on their body.

I definitely would never get used to the strangeness of this world.

finding a nice clearing with a decent sized rock nearby, I picked up the rock and carried to the middle of the clearing, an amazing view all around me greeting my eyes as I sat down.

that same white energy I'd seen now for a few days in a row making its appearance before vanishing.

I will find out what this is!

closing my eyes I followed the same steps as last time, those large energy wells that were my hearts still holding the white energy, it had more red in it than last time, I wonder why? was it a bad thing?

I decided to test it, trying my best to extract or combine the two colors, nothing working, thebreactions I got were violent and I felt waves of pain from my torso as sweat dripped onto the rock beneath me.

but I was determined so I kept trying, the red in the white unexpectedly consuming it, I was shocked, my concentration nearly broke, what the hell was that?!

[second stage entered]

second stage?!!

already! that can't be possible, this whole thing seems impossible to be luck based, but yet here I am.

I didn't understand what had just happened, meaning I had no way of knowing anything, what were its effects? what were its limits or drawbacks? how differently does it work?

I was completely in the dark about this, I was truly and utterly at a loss.

but no one I knew could help, I was sure not even Amira knew about this.

trying to focus fully back on the white lines linking the pits of now red energy in my body I tried to move one, it did move, successfully circulating through my body before going back, the lost energy barely even noticeable.

I tried to do two at a time now, it was kinda easy since I chose ones that followed nearly the same lines and they took less concentration than if I'd tried to do two on opposite sides.

next up was three and it was much more difficult, it took me what felt like hours to even try, the energy barely budging a few inches before dissipating, more exhaustion building as I sweat on the rock.

but finally after what had to be an eternity I was able to move three at once, at the moment I didn't dare to try more, the pain of energy leaving unexpectedly wasn't something I was a fan of.

so circulating it effectively and understanding what it does are the things I need to focus on right now.

so far moving one at a time improves my basic physical abilities, moving two at a time improves my combat skills, and three at a time improves my abilities, all of these stacked so by the time I was moving three at a time quickly I was getting three simultaneous boost effects.

what was interesting was that the more I did this the more these boosts became somewhat permanent, I could feel a boost in myself as soon as I was done moving three at once, my stats hadn't gone up but I felt stronger, more agile, and more clear headed.

but the dark side I had felt intensified too, it was as if whatever I trained was also trained for the inner primal waiting to take over, that dark overbearing fog in my head growing as I grew my strength, there's gotta be a way out of that, or a way to channel that.

even more hours were spent as I tested the limits of the red energy and if I could use it to control the dark fog in my mind, the class was dangerous, the red energy and the fog mixing like oil and water, the clash leaving me in pain among the tall grasses as I'd rolled off the Boulder.

my mind was beyond tired as my body was on its way there, my eyes were barely open as the grass tickled my skin, various creatures all looked into the clearing with curiosity before scurrying away, it was almost comical for the large ones I could barely see through the blurred vision of my partially closed eyes.

right now I needed to sleep but something was holding me back, a nagging feeling at the top of my head like I'd forgotten something, something important, I tried to remember what but it wasn't coming to me, eventually I just gave up, closing my eyes and drifting off to sleep among the grasses.
