Chapter 1 - Prom

"Good Morning dear, how did you sleep?" my dad's chipper voice rang in my head.

My eyes glanced up at him. I could still feel the puffiness of them from crying all last night. This year of high school has been the worst for me, constantly stressed, annoyed with everything, and dealing with depression. I was very sick and tired of everyone and everything. Eventually, I was going to explode, but I had to hide it.

"I see you did get a good night's rest, well I made you some bacon, toast, and a cup of coffee" he kissed me on the forehead and headed out for work.

He seemed to be extra nice to me more than usual. I guess he's picking up on my emotions lately. I took a medium-sized drink of my coffee which was made perfectly with a rich caramel flavor and a poor attempt at making a smiley face with whipped cream on top. It was almost time for school and I knew I was going to be late. Running up the stairs I burst into my room and almost broke my toe as I banged it against my bed frame.

"Holy fuck, fuck, fu" I shouted but lucky I didn't wake up my brother.

No time to fuss over an injury I threw on my black skirt that was decorated with skulls along the bottom, a devil horned hoodie that had little wings on the back, fishnets, my sk8 hi vans, and too lazy to tie up my hair I threw on a white beanie. Bolting back downstairs I grabbed my book bag and keys and raced to school.

As I got there everyone was running to their first-period classes. That was a relief but also meant I had to run to my class. But luckily it was a lab day in my bio class so everyone had to meet in the lab rooms which are adjacent to the parking lot. Doing a light jog I was able to make it on time with 30 seconds to spare.

*Click* the speakers crackled on and blared through the room and outdoor patio area.

"Goodmorning Bears time for your morning announcements" a very loud and excited student screamed.

"Why the fuck is he so happy," this annoying jock said and annoyingly laugh.

"As we all know prom is tomorrow, but there is still time to get your ticket, they will be sold in the main office at lunch and after school."

Prom is the most pointless thing ever, but a part of me wants to go but another part wants to stay at home and watch reruns of shows I've already seen. Thinking about it I would have no friends or even a date to go with, I was pretty much invisible at school. Well, I did have my best friend Katy. We've been friends since middle school, but I already knew she was going with her boyfriend. Spacing out while listening to the announcements I was brought back to reality.

"Is this seat taken Lola?" a deep rich voice asked me.

"Oh no it's not going ahead…oh James" my cheeks grew a bright red seeing his dazzling green eyes. His dark brown hair was still wet from his morning shower.

"Thanks, so are you going to prom?" he asked but while focusing on the lecture.

I didn't care about this class I was getting decent grades in my important classes and this was just a class for me to sleep in. I and James have known each other since last year but it wasn't enough to call it a friendship more of the cool person you wave at during the passing period. So it was weird that he was asking me about prom.

"Nah that shit's lame and I'm not trying to be the third wheel, I'm staying home and watching horror movies or something." my head now laying on the desk with my eyes half-closed looking at him.

"I'm going but I'm going with my friends Tony, Darryl, usually the parties after are better, it would be cool to see you there tho." he continued with his notes and the convo ended as quickly as it started.

I started to blush even more while falling asleep in class. *DING DING DING* the bell rang for my next class, it felt like my class nap was cut short but I was able to get a little bit of energy back. Walking to my history class I felt someone wrap their arms around my neck and kiss my cheek.

"Hello, bestie what's up?" Katy kept walking with me now with her arm linked with mine.

"Nothing much, James asked me if I was going to prom."

"Wait James Raven? the one tall one with the amazing eyes?" Katy stopped me in my tracks.

"Yes!!, but I'm not going so there's no point in getting excited."

"Oh yes the fuck you are, it's the senior year you need to live a little instead of being a hermit"

"Let me, hermit, in peace Katy" I stomped my feet and pretended to act like a toddler throwing a tantrum.

"Okay stop, stop but u do need to go ill be there." Katy's dark blue eyes widened staring into my soul.

"Exactly why I won't go I'm not third-wheeling with you and Hunter, now we can talk later we're going to be late." I grabbed her and pulled her into class.

We had History class together but sat on the opposite ends of the room. As the teacher started the lesson someone tapped on my shoulder and handed me a note. It was from Katy. I looked back at her and shook my head, then proceeded to open it and read.

You will be going to prom IDC if I have to drag you out of your house, also ask the teacher to go to the nurse we need to chat.

"Mr. Lopez uh may I go to the nurse for private reasons, sir." I looked down at my desk pretending to be embarrassed.

"Yes Miss Coupable, take all the time you need" he gestured to the door.

I got up and collected my things and headed out, a couple of seconds later Katy followed right behind.

"How did you get out of staying," I asked her

"I have an A+ in that class so I can miss a few days, but enough about that I had to get you out of class because of this." She showed me her phone and was holding back tears.

As I read the text message my face grew sad as my blood inside started boiling. It was a screenshot of a Snapchat story showing Hunter kissing another girl. Katy lowered the phone and started sobbing in front of me. I didn't know what to do but to wrap her in my arms and comfort her.

"I'm going to kill him for cheating on you, that sack of shit," I said to her, still comforting her.

"As long as I can join, and of course this happens the day before prom I already had my dress and everything." she started crying even more

I had to make her feel better and there was only one way I knew how.

"Katy, will you do me the honor of going to prom with me?'

She looked up at me with the cutest but saddest look, her dark blue eyes sparkling as she looked at me. I used my thumb to wipe her tears off her cheek and moved her pastel blue hair out of her face. We were still outside but only a couple of feet from the history class.

"Yes I would love that, but what about James?" she held me tighter

"I was never planning on going with him and my friend needs me"

The moment started to get more intimate as Katy gave me an innocent kiss on the cheek then looked me deep into my eyes. Before I could pull away her lips kissed mine it felt like electricity when our lips touched my body melted slowly. I wondered if she always wanted to do this with me but she's straight. A ton of thoughts flooded inside my head. I've always liked her but this made me fall in love with her. She shyly pulled away and looked away.

"So we need to get you a dress. Are we going to try and match?"

"I don't know Katy, understand my closet is 90% black everything and yours looks like a cotton candy machine blew up in yours plus you already have a dress." I glanced at her

She had on a black and lavender striped shirt, with an iridescent light blue skirt with a skeleton on it. You could see her pale skin through the slits in her fishnets, and her outfit was commended by her mix-matched combat boots, one black one lavender, just like her shirt. We had sort of the same style but hers just involved a lot of colors.

"We aren't going to talk about the thing we just did?" my face flushed red as I mentioned it

"Shut up, I'm not wearing that dress anymore no way, wanna just skip school and go hang out somewhere to take my mind off this?" Katy started walking in the direction of the parking lot totally ignoring what I said.

"We still have five more classes I can't miss that much, but I guess one day won't hurt," I said acting annoyed I caught up with her

As we got into the car and drove away from the school Katy kept moving around anxiously, every so often checking her phone then laying it face down in her lap. I turned the radio on to try and distract her hoping to lighten the mood. We've been very close since middle school but never saw her this way and it was making me hurt for her.

"Should I just end it with him just let it all out I'm so upset, he will pay" Katy angrily unlocked her phone I glanced over her screen seeing her open up a text, and began typing up a storm?

"Hey, just do it. He deserves it. He's missing out on an amazing girl like you. I vow to make this prom a night you won't forget" It's crazy how I went from hating prom to trying to enjoy it.

After a few exchanges of angry words about Hunter and loud singing of break-up songs, we made it to the mall. The mall was the last place I wanted to be but I was doing it for my friend. Katy leaped out of the car and ran to my side of the car pulling me out. I quickly grabbed my bag and locked my door as Katy held my hand pulling me in. Her hand was warm against mine as she held onto it for a sense of security.

"Oh my god, Lola, these dresses were made for us." She dropped my hand and stood in front of the store's glass window.

"I don't really think it's for us," I said not even looking at the dresses

"Lola Coupable look at the fucking dresses now, please."

Rolling my eyes I looked up and my eyes opened wide in amazement, an elegant all-black dress stared at me. The body was a corset, with flowing lace trim with an intrigued design that went all the way to the floor, the same thing was also on the sleeves. This dress was perfect and next to it was the same dress but in rose gold. Katy was right, it was perfect for us.

"I hate to admit but these are the ones, so glad that's over" I turned to see if she would say anything but lost her. My gaze then went back to the dresses but a store clerk was taking them off the display.

"Katy's about to be upset," I said out loud and walked into the store.

"There you are, I was just about to purchase the dresses." She gave me a wink and finished the purchase.

I walked out and waited for her and received a text from James.

"Hey, I know this is something u don't do over text but wanna go to prom?"

Of course, this would happen after I made plans to go with Katy. I couldn't just bail on her that she would not forgive me for that.

"Young miss, I have acquired your dress, hey what's up you look like your dog died?" Katy handed me my dress.

"Look at this"

I turned my head as I showed the text message from James. Her expression fell as she stopped reading and laid her eyes on me. I couldn't tell what she was thinking but I was praying it wasn't the worst.

"What are you going to tell him?"

"I'm just going to tell him everything and that I'm going with you, he can save me dance for later when we can. Is that okay?"

She didn't say anything but her expression perked up and she surrounded me in a warm embrace. A wave of relief washed over me as I got her approval. As we headed out of the store I sent James a message explaining everything to him, and we headed back to school to purchase a ticket.

"Why are we back here Lola no go home," Katy whined

"Stop acting 12. I'm here to buy a prom ticket."

"Hurry up then we need to get stuff ready for prom tomorrow"

Ignoring her request, I headed to the main office to purchase a ticket. On my way, I saw James sitting on the bench outside the office. He seemed upset about something and I didn't want to bother him, so I walked up slowly and tried to sneak into the office.

"Hey Lola, were you lying about everything you said in that text you just sent to me." his head was lowered and he was twiddling his thumbs.

"No I'm being serious, why would I lie about something like that?"

"My sister works at the dress shop in the mall and saw you all lovey-dovey with some girl and told me."

I didn't have time to explain myself to him and was ready for this day to be over with. Ignoring him I opened the office door and went to the lady at the front desk. The front desk lady was my mom's best friend Lisa, she always kept an eye out for me. She was spontaneous, and very sweet, with the clearest mocha skin making her look like she attended the school with me.

"Hey doll eyes, how's my little lady today?" doll eyes is the name she called me since I was a freshman.

"I'm stressed out but I'm here to buy a prom ticket." I handed her some cash but she refused to take it.

"Oh baby no this is on me finally glad to see you going out to a school event, it might be the last one but I'm happy" she grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

"Who's your date then, is it that cutie James you always be around?"

"Nah, I'm going with my friend Katy." I felt my face get red hot as I said her name.

"Looks like someone likes Katy, your secrets are safe with me don't worry"

Too embarrassed to say anything else I said my goodbye to Mrs. Lisa and walked out. Not even surprised as I walked out, James was still sitting there.

"James, listen I hope you believe me because I would like you to save a dance for me at prom tomorrow."

"I'll think about it" his voice was stern but I saw a small smile as he got up and headed in the other direction.

Shaking off that whole interaction I opened the car door and placed the ticket on my dash. I looked over at Katy who was singing with her earbuds in not even noticing I was in there. I leaned over to the passenger seat and bit her arm.

"OW, Lola, what the hell are you hungry?" She rubbed her arm and tried to bite me back. Her eyes lowered and her focus grew strong. Next thing I knew she straddled me and bit my neck.

"Katy ayo like chill out" I kept giggling as she kept doing it over and over. Finally, she stopped and returned back to her seat. As I got myself readjusted I saw James staring into the car window. Our eyes locked and his expression grew dark as he stuck up his middle finger at me and walked away.

"Fuck you dickhead she didn't want you anyways." Katy shoved her head out the window and shouted.

I let her do her thing and pulled out of the parking lot and drove to my house. I was upset at what happened with James but realized it's probably for the best that we didn't go together. Today was a very weird day and I knew tomorrow would probably be weirder.

"Katy, what do you want for dinner? I'll order something for us."

"You already know tacos from Chicken Palace and Chinese food from Angry Wok"

"I should've known because that's what I was thinking"

As I ordered the food I started to feel anxiety ensue as I thought about prom tomorrow night.

"Katy I'm going to go lay down a bit I'm not feeling too well just bring the food into my room when it comes"

She gave me a thumbs up and continued watching tv. Finally reaching my room I plopped down on my bed face down and let out a deep sigh. This prom would be my first school dance and going with someone I liked was nerve-racking. The moment with James today hurt a little but I guess things happen for a reason. I rested my eyes until Katy burst into my room with the food full of energy.

"Got the goods, let's eat so I can sleep" She sat the bags on my bed and sat down beside me.

"I know you were having an anxiety attack good thing I found this the other day." she reached behind her back and pulled out a small teddy bear.

"No way you found him Yonkie, my buddy." I took it from her hands and gave it a hug.

Yonkie was a Teddy bear that Katy gave me when we first met it was something that calmed me whenever I had anxiety or needed someone to talk to when no one was around. I lost him last year on a family vacation I took with Katy and her family. I didn't think id ever get him back.

"I found him last night looking through an old bin in the garage, I guess my mom actually found it after our trip and just put it up, at least you finally have him." She took a bite out of her taco.

"I love you so much thank you, I feel a lot better"

The night fell and we grew tired, full from the food we laid in bed and watched a movie. As the movie played in the background Katy leaned her head on my shoulder and started to doze off. Not wanting to disturb her sleep I turned off the movie and the LED lights that lit up my room, pulled the comforter over us and knocked out.

The afternoon had arrived, the sun glistening through my shades. Katy was now fully wrapped up in the comforter, leaving me shivering to hug my teddy bear. Still wanting to catch some sleep, I moved my body up against hers and pulled some of the comforters onto me. I could sleep all day but unfortunately couldn't.

"Good Morning bestie, well afternoon now, you sleep well?" Katy had awoken from her slumber and wrapped her arm around me and pulled me closer to her.

"No, I froze my ass off cause you took the blankets" I turned to face her with my eyes closed trying to grab a little more rest.

"Well, that's tough no more sleeping, we have a lot to do before prom?" springing out of bed she threw the sheets on me and headed towards the bathroom.

"Knock knock, can I come in?" a deep voice whispered from the hallway

"Yes Kai you can come in, what do you want?"

"I heard you were going to prom to look at my little sister all grown up, so what guy did you bribe to take you?" his stupid smile grew into a laugh.

"Kai literally shut the fuck up I'm going with Katy now leave" I threw a pillow at his head but he stayed in place continuing to bother me.

"No way! you two are a thing, I knew it would happen." before I could say anything he threw the pillow back at me and ran out of my room.

I was already wanting this day to end but had to remember I'm doing this for my friend. I got up out of bed dragging my body to the closet and threw on an oversized hoodie, some shorts, and my combat boots, threw my hair up in a messy bun, and headed downstairs to the kitchen. Entering the kitchen Kai was pouring a huge bowl of cereal and sharing it with Katy, they've always had a weird sibling-type bond, I never saw her as a sister though.

"Kai, why are you guys eating all the cereal?" I whined as I picked up the empty box.

"Want some?" he responded with his mouth full of cereal

"No, I'm just going to go get some coffee and nail polish for tonight" I groaned taking the keys off the hook

The day was beautiful clear blue skies, with the sun beaming down creating an angelic light around me. First, I went to the mall and picked up some plain black and red nail polish to compliment my dress for tonight. The next stop was my favorite tiny coffee shop that was right around the corner. It felt good to relax and get away from everyone for a bit, entering the coffee shop I was greeted by a familiar face behind the counter.

"Goodmorning Lola"

"Oh hi James you work here now?" he completely caught me off guard.

"My aunt owns the shop and helped me to get a job here I started last week." I could see his mood brighten as I talked more with him.

"Nice, I'll just have a large caramel frap with 3 shots of espresso, and lots of caramel."

"Three shots?!? Are you okay?"

"Yeah just getting ready for stupid ass prom in a few hours, are you still going?" I looked into his green eyes as I handed him my credit card.

"Yep, I'm still going, and don't worry I'm totally over everything from the other day. I'm sorry and I'll save you a dance" He smiled at me, handed me my card, and went back to make my coffee.

The day was starting to look up and I was looking forward to tonight. I finally made it home and I was home alone. Kai probably went to some party, and Katy was home getting ready. It was still a few more hours till the big night. So I took a shower, wrapped my hair up, and painted my nails.

"Oh my God, I'm bored, time hurry up," I said out loud, turning on my tv and flipping through the channels until my nails were dry.

*Ding Ding* The doorbell rang and I shot up and ran to the door.

"Finally I was about to die of boredom holy shit, so" my jaw dropped as I looked up to see Katy in the rose gold dress hugging her body, her hair was curled and laid over to one side, everything was perfect on her.

"Hello earth to Lola we gotta get you ready." she giggled and walked in

"Sorry you just look more amazing than usual, is this the same girl?"

"Stop, but thank you now it's your turn now hurry to your room."

We ran into my room almost falling as we got in. I quickly pulled the dress from my closet and threw it on my bed. I sat down in front of Katy and she did my make-up, we ran to the bathroom, did my hair and finally got to put on the dress. As I was getting done putting the finishing touches on my outfit I stopped to look in the mirror with Katy standing behind me.

"We look hot and my makeup looks amazing thank you Katy" I felt my eyes start to tear up but held them back.

"Oh, I almost forgot one thing that will fit this dress." She pulled out a silver chain choker with a crystal heart on it and put it around my neck.

"Wow, I love it, come here." I hugged her then finished getting ready.

"What shoes though the boots or the heels?" I stood still in front of my closet.

"Your Vans that's what I'm wearing fuck heels." We both shared and laughed. It was finally time for prom.

This night was feeling perfect even though I still hated that I was going to prom. I'm just glad Katy was happy even after her breakup. We drove to the prom with music blaring and the windows down with the night breeze blowing against our skin. The prom was being held at a resort only a few minutes from my house and when we arrived it was packed. Neon lights flashed from inside and huge groups of teenagers were socializing outside. My heart raced with excitement and nervousness as I parked and got out of the car. Katy was already ready to go and talked with everyone and dance, you would've thought she never got social interaction by how she was acting. Walking up to the venue she interlocked her hand with mine and smiled at me. Everyone looked at us and complimented us, from out of the corner of my eye I saw Hunter Katy's ex giving us a glare and heading in with us. This was just great. I knew this night wasn't going to end pretty.

"I'm going to go get us something to drink, brb" she squeezed my hand one last time and wandered to the snack bar.

Waiting for her to come back I swayed side to side with the music that was playing and scanned the room. My eyes brightened as I laid my eyes on James talking with his friends on the dance floor. Katy wasn't back yet with our drinks so I decided to go over and talk to him.

"Hi James you look very handsome," I said flirtatiously

"Oh, whatever Thanks." The tone in his voice made it seem like he was upset with me about something or acting tough around his friends but I ignored it and asked him.

"Wanna dance, just like you promised" I smiled awkwardly

He didn't respond. I felt the room around me go dark just leaving me and him. He motioned his friends to leave and turned around to face me.

"I don't care about the dance anymore, it was a bet between me and the boys to see if some girl would fall for me actually saving a dance for them. You were the only one stupid enough to do it" It was a different side of James one I've never seen.

"Oh I see" I tried to hold back my tears

"Are you crying? Wow, go run to your girlfriend and maybe she can give you a kiss to feel better."

"I thought we were friends?" a tear rolled down my cheek carrying a trail of mascara behind it.

He ignored what I said and walked over to his entourage giving them all high fives. Hunter was also there. We locked eyes and he mouthed something to me. I could barely see but was able to make out him calling me a bitch. There was nothing I could do but turn around and leave, embarrassed, heartbroken, and enraged. Tears streaming down my face I ran to my car and got in not starting the car I laid my head on the steering wheel and cried. How could someone do that to me just to ghost me? I tried to fix myself up so I could go home, I rolled down the window to get some air and I could overhear James on the phone walking to his car.

"Yeah, that girl lily, Lila whatever her name is but she's weird, funny she thought I liked her freakin crazy. Anyways I'm going home this prom was lame going to do a short run then hit up a party" he did his annoying laugh and got in his car.

That was my last straw. Something snapped in my brain and grew hate in my heart and wanted revenge. I followed him home, keeping two cars in between us so it wouldn't look suspicious. He lived five minutes away from my house which was perfect. An evil grin was planted on my face, not wasting time and rushing home. I opened my home door I only could see in tunnel vision as I grew more and more hate inside getting closer to my room. Putting on a hoodie changing my shoes and putting on some warm knee-high socks, grabbing my katana, and racing back downstairs. No one was home at the time to stop me and I was forever grateful. I threw my katana in the back seat and drove back to James' house.

"Hello little bitch" I said aloud glaring out my window seeing James start his run. I decided to give him a head start, waiting I cranked the volume of my music to max screaming the lyrics to some generic pop-punk song. As the second verse of the song played I revved up the engine of my 2014 honda civic and sped after him. He was running down the side of the road no streets near just the moonlight lighting up the sky. The road was surrounded by huge oak trees and a disappointing amount of litter. Now going full speed I crossed over to the left side of the road where James was running. Everything played in slow motion, he was shocked as he turned around last second and locked eyes with me. My car struck his body sending him backward slamming his body against an oak tree.

I was able to stop my car in time before it could hit a tree and leave me stranded with a body. Unfortunately, as I stepped out of the car with my katana in hand he was still breathing but unable to move. The sight of him laying there made me feel a different way I didn't care at all about what I had done but knew it wasn't over.

I straddled his broken body as he lay there motionless, nose broken and bleeding, a deep gash on his forehead, and his left eyeball almost coming out. He gasped for air his breathing slowly fading out.

"Shhhhh this is what you deserve you evil fuck" My anger raged through my body seeing his beaten up face.

Slowly I placed the blade of my katana to his throat and slowly slid it across drawing a little bit of blood. Now standing over him I wiped the little blood that was on my katana and licked it with an evil grin. Thunder and lightning cracked and lit up the sky setting the dark grim night. My dress was soaked as the rain poured down heavily.

"My kindness won't be taken for granted anymore."

I pulled my katana back and forcefully sliced it across his neck. Blood sprayed from the gash and hit my face, but was washed away immediately from the rain. There his body laid both legs shattered the bones exposed, part of his skull crushed, and his throat slit gaping showing his bone and tissue.

"Oh my what the fuck did I just do?" my hands began to shake, I couldn't believe it I ended up murdering someone in my furious rage.

I couldn't stay here the road was empty but still not risking the chances of someone driving by. I picked up my katana trod back to my car and drove away from the site. Moments later while driving I saw police cars race past me sirens growing farther in the distance as they drove south towards the dead body of James. Another sense of panic rushed over me, I quickly turned into the nearest gas station. Luckily this one had a car wash I pulled up got out of my car leaving the engine running.

"Calm down Lola breathe, breathe" quietly I whispered to myself

Now inside I grabbed my favorite pack of gummy worms and a caramel cold brew from the fridge and checked out.

"Also can I get a ticket for the car wash"

The clerk nodded his head ripped a ticket from the cash register and hand it to me with my receipt. I jogged out of the building almost forgetting I left my car running. After making it back to the car I opened my cold brew and chugged the whole 16oz can, and then drove into the car wash. I looked out the window as the rainbow soap cascades onto my window. The rhythmic pattern of the car wash was calming, the taste of the multicolored gummy warms was also calming bringing back old fun times with my friends. After the car wash was over I head home with the windows down to calm my nerves and some calm lofi playing.

"What did I just do tho I just killed someone, oh no oh fuck" as I finally felt like nothing could go wrong my engine started to smoke and shut off in the middle of nowhere.

I placed my hazards on and waited for something to happen. Luckily my phone wasn't dead but of course no service. An hour had gone by and I saw red and blue lights coming from the direction of the body. Was this help or will I be found out? The car started to pull over then stopped the lights flashing into my car window.

"Shit shit shit, the katana" panic flooded my body again and frantically I started looking for a place to put it. Slowly I calmed down from my mini panic attack and remembered the blade could detach from the handle. Taking it apart I carefully slide the blade part down the inside my knee-high socks and the handle in my hoodie pocket. Now I had to worry about not getting cut, getting caught, and the fact I just murdered someone.

Shortly the police officer had walked up and softly tapped on my window.

"And young lady what are you doing out here this late?" her smile was soft and caring as she questioned me.

"My car just stopped working on my way from a prom party" of course I was lying about the party. I shyly held my head down and played with my hoodie strings feeling myself tear up.

"Aw okay sweety I can give you a ride home and we can tow your car back home" I could feel her calm voice wrap me in safety as I had nothing to worry about.

"Okay Thank you" sniffing and looking at her with water-filled eyes.

She wrapped me up in a blanket and put me in the back of a police cruiser to be taken home.

"How was prom sweety?"

"You can call me Lola, and it was terrible I don't want to talk about it." I wrapped myself up tighter in the blanket and cried.

"Sorry to hear that Lola, just to let you know my prom was terrible was dumped last minute and saw him later that night with my best friend"

"Oh, that's shitty what did you do?"

"Well I cried of course then keyed his car, he deserved it"

We both exchanged a laugh and a few more conversations which helped me forget a little bit before she pulled up to my house.

"Bye Brittany thanks for the ride and the tow"

"No problem glad you are safe there's a murderer out the just got done at a scene when I picked you up Stay safe" she backed out and drove away.

As I escorted myself up the dark gravel walkway. A black cat crossed my path and looked at me meowed and scurried away. My dad and grandma were asleep I remember walking inside and I didn't want to be bothered waking them up with a shower. So I undressed out my wet clothes put my katana back on display and threw on an oversized shirt and laid in bed. Time felt like it froze and I was stuck in a nightmare that was all too real. I fell back to reality realizing I left Katy at the dance, I grabbed my phone and called her crying overwhelmed with emotion.

"Katy I'm so sorry I left you things with James went downhill and Hunter was there, I left I should've told you but I needed to get out." I could hardly breathe telling her everything

I heard her take a deep breath over the phone and she spoke with a soft angelic voice.

"Lola I'm so sorry that happened I'm coming over right now, Hunter and James are so dead."

I quickly hung up the phone after I heard the words dead, and slammed my face into my pillow, and screamed. What felt like 15 minutes felt like an eternity waiting for Katy to come over, all of a sudden I heard footsteps coming down the hall.

"Oh shit they found me I'm going to jail for life," I whispered to myself

"Lola im here" my door opened and Katy rushed over to my bedside and hugged me not letting going comforting me by rubbing my back. Her body was warm against mine relaxing my body slowly calming me down. She stopped and looked me in the eyes her eyes glistened with tears, water rolled down her face from the rain outside. My eyes drifted down to her lips her focus changed as she saw me looking.

"You know I've always liked you?" Katy said taking off her dress

"Y-y-you did?" I turned my head so she couldn't see me smile

"Yes, I guess that's why I was able to get over Hunter so fast"

She pushed me back on my bed and straddled my hips, slowly she began kissing my face working down to my neck now sucking softly. I bit back a moan, closing my eyes and letting her takeover. Her left hand ran up my thigh and up under my shirt while her right hand held her up over me. My body shook as she rubbed her fingers over my nipple and pinched. Every touch helped me to forget about what had happened tonight. I was craving more as I was pulsating between my legs. I took my hands and pulled her body down onto mine and caressed her lips with mine, our tongues danced in each other's mouth. Passion and desire flowed through us as we made out. I slowly started to run out of breath and stopped.

"I need you now" I leaned up and took off my shirt showing my bare breast.

"I've been waiting for this moment," Katy said seductively

Her mouth latched onto my breast while her hand squeezed my other. Trying my hardest to focus I undid her bra.

"My turn already?"

She sat back up still straddling me. Her perfect frame was displayed perfectly by the neon lights in my room. I looked down at our underwear both wet. Katy grew a mischievous grin, got up and sat at the edge of the bed, and pulled me closer to her. She walked her fingers up my inner thighs and stopped at my underwear. Teasing me made me want it even more now. Sticking my hands now my pants I rubbed myself moaning and put on a show for her. I guess she couldn't keep teasing me and pulled my underwear off and slowly eased in two fingers, my hips bucked and I grabbed her hand helping her go in and out at the rhythm I wanted. This night was hectic from thinking it would be a great night but then turning into a bad night, which led to this. I felt another warm wave wash over my body as I came letting out a loud moan leaving me panting. Reality started to form back as I got my breath leaving me alive to think about what I did.

"Katy I love you and I need to tell you something" I sat up still shaking.

"I love you too, what's up?" She sat on my bed and gave me back my underwear.

"I don't know how to put this, but I'm trusting you with this" my heart was beating faster than it's ever been.

"After that incident with James and Hunter, I ran to my car and waited for James so I could follow him home and I uh.." How do I just let my best friend know I just killed someone?

"I killed James a few minutes before you came over." I sobbed into her shoulder

Her facial expression dropped and her body froze in shock. A moment of silence was broken by a chuckle, I wasn't sure if she was laughing because of the situation I put her in or because she thought I was joking.

"Yeah right stop you didn't do that, you're trying to tell me the girl who collects spiders and releases them instead of killing them murdered a grown man?"

I was speechless and didn't know what to say but I knew how to prove it. Reaching towards my nightstand I grabbed the remote and changed the channel to the news. I wasn't surprised when I read the headline "Reported Hit and Run body of James Raven Found dead." They reported it as a hit and run for now but I wasn't relieved one bit.

"It's just a hit and runs what kind of sick joke was that? but what the fuck James is dead." She got up and headed over to my closest. Stopping in her tracks she bent over and picked up my dress that she stepped on. She focused on the end of the dress and rubbed her fingers against it and dropped it.
