After Alex received his knighthood he made his way to the Wink and Twinkle tavern. When he made this way in he was greeted by the familiar scent of achole. He made his way to the counter were he saw a unfamiliar skinny middle-aged man. He knew he had to go to the basement and now that he was a knight he could enter the basement with eas but he would still have to come up with an excuse.
"Good morning sir," Alex said.
"Greetings sir how may I help?" the man asked.
"There have been a group of criminals active recently so I'm here search for any clues?" Alex said.
"Forgive me but there are no criminals here," the man replied in slightly annoyed tone.
"I apologize I wasn't implying that there were any criminals here. I was simply saying that I have to check every store in this area for any clues," Alex replied in a calm tone.
"I see but it will be kind of hard to do that right now as you can see this place is kind of busy," the man replied in regretful tone.
"No don't worry I just need to check your basement," Alex said.
"Why?" the man asked confused.
"Sorry I'm not exactly sure myself perhaps to make sure they weren't staying here?" Alex said.
"Okay...I doubt they were staying here but if all you need to see is the basement feel free to go right ahead. It's this way," he man said as he walked to the back of the tavern.
Alex fallowed the man further in to the tavern until he saw the man standing next to a open door.
"It's right here," the man pointed to the open door.
"Aren't you coming with?" Alex asked as he gazed into the room.
"No someone still needs to manage this place," the man said shaking his head.
Alex entered the basement and looked around. He could not see anything that looked like a lever he was about to leave when he saw a metal pipe halfway in the grain. He wasn't sure if it was the lever, it looked kind of rusted. He went over and picked up the pipe. When he did he had never been so glad he wore gloves before. He could feel how wet it was and judging from the smell he could be sure it was submerged in swerege water.
"Received Second Lever of fire!"
"You received a piece of a machine once created by a mysterious blacksmith. Collect all the pieces inorder to get the machine working again!"
He found the notification weird. He could not figure out why the system was referring that old man as a mysterious blacksmith he was pretty low key but that hardly qualifies him as being mysterious. Alex went to the door of the basement and knocked on it. The door was opened by the same man he spoke to.
"How you finished your investigation?" the man asked.
"Yes I finished searching luckily there doesn't seem to any supiciose," Alex answered as he left the basement.
