Ophaniell's generals complied immediately and the entire Kutha army rushed to the gates of Zavalla carrying their rams to breach the gate and conquer the temple fortress.

The Kutha alliance launched an all-out assault on Zavalla temple, thinking that the occupants of the temple were all killed by their poisonous cloud. To their surprise, they were greeted by magic arrows when they reached the walls of Zavalla.
"Flaming Arrows of Nyx"
Barrages of magic projectiles poured onto the invading forces.
The Kutha army were ill prepared to defend against the magic arrows because they thought the temple was already defenseless.
"What is the matter? Why are the enemies still conjuring magic? Is your poison useless?" Ophaniel questioned Keran who had no answer to his leader.
"That is not possible, how can they survive our poison?" Keran asked.
