THE KING OF SNOW MOUNTAIN AGAIN
In the middle of his lair, the hibernating giant Snowe Bear was a massive form that dominated the space, together with a sheer presence that commanded fear and respect.
This was the unofficial King of Slowan Forest, the strongest and deadliest creature that we could encounter in the forest. Few hunters in Slowan village had ever seen the Snowe Bear to be alive to tell story about it. In fact, there were none.
The bear's body was covered in a thick layer of snow-white fur, which helped it blend seamlessly with its wintry surroundings. The fur was long, shaggy, and incredibly dense, providing insulation against the biting cold.
There wasn't winter usually in Nymera probably due to the country's location on the planet, but the Snowe Bear's surrounding was cold because we came to a mountain, the highest point in Slowan forest which enjoyed a little bit of snow at certain times of the year.
There was also magic here that promoted the cooling of the place which gave me chills as I sneaked up to the bear.
"This is definitely not going to be easy or safe", I told myself.
"Rings of Growth"
Slowly, I surrounded the Snowe Bear with magical vines to entangle it in his sleep before I attacked it.
"Soul Crescent Blade"
I've imprinted my soul magic on the Blade that I fashioned from Ronnie's shuttle wrecks, and it was the toughest material ever, but I was unsure whether the blade was enough to breach into the Snowe Bear's powerful furry armored skin.
The Snowe Bear should have thick flesh and enormous body armor that would be equivalent to a +20 Templar Constitution if measured according to the scale of templar magic.
"Argghhhh"
In a swoosh, my Soul Blade sliced the Snowe Bear as it screamed and growled.
Although my Soul realm was only at Mercury Tier in magic, my Soul Blade was equivalent to a +30 Power attack which was already at the peak of Mercury magic which I believed was enough to cut into the bear.
My Soul magic wasn't the same as my templar magic because I inherited it from a previous life. When I awakened a tier in my soul magic, I gained the maximum levels of benefit from the tier.
"Rawwrrrr"
However, my soul blade failed to kill the bear, but it woke it from its slumber.
"Damnit damn, the bear is awake", I complained to myself.
I must have miscalculated my strength and underestimated the powerful Snowe Bear and failed to assassinate it. The Snowe Bear quickly sensed my killing intent, so it charged toward me.
Luckily, the bear was restrained by my magical vines as my Soul blade continued to slice and pierce the creature causing multiple wounds on its neck and head, but the bear had tough bones that weren't easy to penetrate.
"Argghhhh"
Finally, the Snowe Bear broke free from my vines to charge at me.
Quickly, I ran from the cave as the bear chased me furiously.
"Damnit, the bear would kill me. I have taken more than I could chew this time", I complained to myself.
This was one of the occasions where I overestimated my abilities, and that miscalculation could cost my life. The Snowe Bear wasn't easy to kill and probably not possible for me to kill.
"Soul Crescent Blade"
As the bear chased me, my soul blade continued to pierce into the bear to cause more wounds and also slow it down a little. My plan was to bleed the creature to death rather than deal a killing blow because it wasn't likely I could penetrate through its bones with my magic and weapons.
I hope to kill the Snowe Bear just like how I killed the Fanged Hyena before.
"Rawwwrrrr"
Suddenly the Snowe Bear jumped right in front of me and clawed my shoulders and broke my arms. I had no idea the bear could move this fast.
Then I realized it wasn't the bear's speed that made it close the distance with me. The Snowe Bear had a special ability that could move through space and teleport a short distance toward me.
"Damnit, the bear can teleport", I complained to myself.
"Rawwwrrrr"
The Bear leaped at me again to hurt my other shoulder as it flung me toward our shuttle carriage.
"I am saved now", I thought to myself as I ran to my shuttle.
It was likely the Bear couldn't break the shuttle to harm us, provided I could get inside on time.
"Come here quick", Raven told me as he opened the shuttle hatch to let me in as the bear followed closely behind.
Luckily, I reached the shuttle moments before the Snowe Bear rammed on our shuttle. And he rammed again and again.
"Damnit we are being rolled off the carriage", Bommurs said to us as Minna gave me first aid.
The Snowe Bear rolled us around the cliff of the mountain.
"We are being rolled down the mountain", Ronnie told us worriedly.
For a moment we thought the bear would roll us over the mountain and into the valley below, but we were lucky. As the Snowe Bear was attacking our shuttle, it became stuck on an unusually large tree that even the powerful bear couldn't break. The tree stopped our shuttle from falling off the cliff.
"Bang…bang…bang"
The Snowe Bear was vicious. Despite his bleedings and wounds, he was determined to kill me even when he knew I was protected inside a well armored Shuttle that he couldn't break.
The Snowe Bear wasn't stupid. He thought that he would kill me if he managed to throw my shuttle down the cliff and have his revenge.
"Soul Crescent Blade"
However, despite my wounds, I did not slow my attack against the powerful beast as my crescent blade sliced the bear repeatedly. Although I was wounded, my soul blade continued to slice the Snowe Bear at its every vein, at every chance that it could making sure that it would bleed profusely.
The ability to control my soul weapon was unique. I could sense and see the circumstances around my soul weapon in my mind if I focused on it even if I wasn't around the weapon.
That made it possible for me to continuously attack the Snowe Bear while hiding inside our shuttle.
"Hell, what would make the bear stop slamming us?" Bommurs asked us but none of us had the answer.
