The God Candidate
———————————
During the late sixteenth century, The Samurai Age. In all of Japan, there were 9 major clans in total, Nakamura, Kamakura, Kyoto, Okinawa, Genji, Fujiwara, Yamaguchi, Katanabe, Hirata and Mokusei.
Shinsuke, the "Saint Hades", born into the honorable Nakamura clan as the son of the Chief of the clan, Nakamura Asami and heir to "Balladeer of Celestia", a title so grand, it was sought after by other clans, mostly by the Kamakuras, the second best clan in the whole of Hiroshima. Meanwhile, in the Kamakura Clan, Jin, the son of the Chief of the clan, Kamakura Kazuma, also sought out for the divine position in Celestia. Each clan had a son who's heir to the throne of the clan, all except the Katanabe Clan, in which their chief bears a daughter, four daughters infact, Asakura Katanabe, the oldest daughter of the Chief, and the most suitable candidate for the Chief Position. All clans were in perfect sync until the Kamakura Clan, seeking power, their hatred for the Nakamura Clan and the need for domination, betrayed their trust.
According to the words of several gods manifested into a book, The Gospel, and passed down and divided into copies and shared among all 54 clans. Each God candidate from each clan would partake in a competition every generation, to select the one who take the position of the Balladeer, who has the power to compose ballads, ballads powerful enough to do anything.
As the God Candidates were taken to an Arena on Celestia, a war was brewing down on the lands of Hiroshima, on a mere bet of which clan the God candidate would be picked from. Days passed and it was the final round, with a tie, having an equal number of wins, this round was between Nakamura Shinsuke and Kamakura Jin, they battled, and battled. With Shinsuke at an advantage, the battle turned real quick, and about to deal the last hit, Shinsuke feels disturbed, stops and asks for the battle to end and rushed back to Hiroshima, only to see a world engulfed in flames.
Kamakura, witnessed a war with a rival clan, Hiroshima. Kamakura, engulfed in flames, as the legendary ronin, Nakamura Asami, covered in blood, who slaughtered all of the Kamakura Clan members, stood on a pile of the bodies of the samurais that fought to save their town, while he let out a sigh and a face filled with accomplishment, as he spoke his last words "Shisuke, my son, grow up, grow up to the the loving father and Chief, a Chief that would always smile and never look down and betray his people, the very Chief I couldn't be".
