Rushing to the shores furthest from the cliff I ran, my life in the hands of my own. I ran as though nothing would get in my way. I ran as if I would die the moment I stopped.
I repressed the memories of what has happened and only ran.
I ran to the beach where the sand made my sprint heavier and harder to move in. Down the beach I ran to a rowboat large enough to carry one man. Making a mad dash to the boat I placed my sword in the boat leaning towards the bow and the mask was placed in the seat in front of me. This boat is only known to the chief and their decedents and partner. With the oars already placed I began to row away I rowed till my arms where numb my hands full of blisters.
I stopped rowing and felt the weight of everything that has just happened finally hit me. The memories of everything rolling back like a video. I leaned down hands resting my head as I used my knees to support my arms with my elbows. I felt the soft and warm water roll off my eyes and into my arms. I couldn't keep it back as my tears started to fall down like raindrops.
"AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!"
I screamed with all my might I couldn't hold my self back as I started slamming my fists into open ocean shouting and crying into the air where no one could hear me.
I stopped as few whimpers escaped my lips. Looking at the sheath my father had given me I slowly picked it up as I felt weak from my cries. I pulled out the blade only a few inches from its sheath, just enough for me to see the blade.
Drops of water landed on the blade, but not from tears a soft rain fall started to fall off of the grey clouds in the sky. With nothing else to do I grasped onto the mask and looked at it carefully. The mask reminded me of an owls beak, but this mask had so much more almost demonic. Having these as the last remains of my parents I huddled on the boats cold wat floor and held the blade and mask closely to my body drifting to sleep as the rain drops echoed in my mind..
. . .
I opened my eye and noticed that I have landed on a beach, Picking myself up I placed the 4 foot sheath on my hip and took up the mask and adorned it upon my face I walked through a patch of woods hoping to find others.
I walked through the wood for what seemed like hours. And before I knew it The sun had begun to set. Looking at an opening of a cave in a mountain I made my way to it trying to see shelter.
Walking in I saw no animals in it and saw that this cave had gone surprisingly deep. Walking deeper I felt weak, my will to live had already been near its limit, but not feeling the worth of another and not being able to speak to anyone started to take its toll on my mind, body, and soul.
(POV 3rd)
making it much deeper into the cave revealed a pool of crystal clear water and a beautiful tree with pink leaves.
Yone walked to the tree as if in a trance he started to strip leaving only his pants, sword, and mask.
Yone walked into the water as the lights in his eyes that have barely held on began to fade away.
"It should be alright to die here right." Yone asked himself as he walked into the waters that seemed to hold an ethereal blue glow
Yone a few steps into the water that seemed to reach his thigh began to draw his blade as it shimmered from the light of the pool. Looking at himself in the blade he couldn't even look at himself properly as he clenched the sword until his knuckles turned white from his own force.
Yone held his blade pointed to his chest as his eyes looked at the pink tree.
(POV Yone)
"Dying in such a beautiful place is unbefitting for a coward" I held the blade with both hands tightening both my grip and determination.
*Squelch*
I fell back as the blade had remained in my heart my back fall against the water creating a splash from my weight.
I began to sink into the water as the surface began to leave me. I closed my eyes as I had already accepted my fate.
I felt my body start to rise through some unknown force. A excruciating pain started to come from my mask I had wanted the pain to stop as my body was ejected from the pool of water landing my body on the grass outside.
The grass was soon bathed in my blood as multiple gashes would form, then heal in a moments notice. The cuts would range from small and shallow, to 3 feet long and 2 inches deep. And I felt every single one of them.
This process continued for about an 10 minuets of pure hell.
When the process ended I reached to take off my mask where it had hurt the most. But I couldn't, no matter how hard I tried to take it off I couldn't. I didn't panic, I have no reason to. I'm more worried that I am still somehow alive and the wounds that would come and go here and their.
I look at the sword that had fallen out of my chest as I returned it into my sheath.
"I feel something...I feel powerful, like something is swirling inside of me." I lifted my other hand and concentrating in the palm of my hand I felt a sword start to manifest in my hand. I looked at the hand and up my arm as I looked at the bandages that scaled up both my arms as the ends seemed to float in place giving them an ethereal look. These bandages also seemed to wrap abound the lower side of my abdomen.
Emptying my flask I filled it with the water from the pool before walking away.
I walked to the edge of the entrance of this grand area as I looked at my new blade. This blade is strange in shape as its similar to a katana, but seems mystical with strange writing in the blade.
I looked up into the ceiling of the cave as I slashed the red sword into the air with red streaks flowing and hitting the ceiling.
"This place must never be discovered." I said as I ran to the cave entrance to leave.
With speed that I have never been able to do before I look as the new blade disappears upon my will.
"At 13 years old I have experienced so much, yet the gods do not let me have peace" I said walking down and open stream hoping to find civilization.
