Rhonda and Mason arrived in the evening the next day. I had tried to communicate with Helena throughout the night but she hadn't responded. I hoped allowing her to let loose would fix the issues between us.
The truth was Helena wanted me to reconcile with Alex and I had refused. Apart from what he and his pack did and what he made me go through, he was married to another wolf. Yes, he had moved permanently to the human town but he was still married to Hilda. I couldn't stop as low as getting back with him while he was married. I didn't want to give him the chance to betray me again. If I ever had to be with someone it would be someone I didn't care so much for, so when he ever betrays me, it wouldn't hurt so bad.
The cabin only had two rooms. I had to give up the room I occupied with Nicole for Rhonda and Mason. To make me comfortable, Alex decided he would sleep on the couch while the children and I would take the room.
