Alex had been very helpful. Often he would babysit while I go to work. Initially, he begged me to stop working and that I should move back to the house he bought. I rejected his offer. He then offered the same help to Elisabeth but she too rejected it. I knew he wouldn't stop so I threatened to cut off again if he persisted. It worked like magic. He stopped offering help and chose to babysit so he could spend time with the twins.
The twins had started to bug me about visiting their father. They were too young and they were already attached to him. I kept saying no, but I knew a time would come when they would have to go there. So I took it upon myself to take them there on one of my free days. I didn't tell Alex because I wanted it to be a surprise.
