Sam eventually woke up in the morning and we returned to the cabin. What surprised me the most was the way Mason stood guard all night in the hospital. I used to think he had his reservations about Sam, but knowing he killed Hilda's goons and stood guard in the hospital all night cleared all my doubts.
Hilda was held in custody along with her father and her sister. My father deferred judgement until after my fight with Alpha Raphael. Remembering the fight made me very afraid. I had tried to have a good time with Sam before telling her. I knew it was time to tell her. The fight was in two days and I needed to prepare myself.
Sam and I were in our room and I couldn't stop holding her. It was time to tell her about the fight, but I was scared she would panic. I knew I had to tell her eventually, so I chose that moment.
"I need to tell you something?" I said and I could see the uneasiness in her eyes.
