"Okay, let's stop before someone gets hurt." Kurono felt that this little argument wouldn't stop if he didn't do something about it, so he placed himself between Rena and Yuki intending to calm the atmosphere down a bit.
"Hmph! She started it." Rena pouted as she said that and turned her head to ignore Yuki's figure.
"It doesn't really matter who started, but we all have things to do and it's not good to waste more time." Kurono was appealing to the reason of the moment, and everyone agreed with him.
Rena had forgotten that she wanted to go shopping because of the sudden discussion, Shizune was still watching with some curiosity and Akio had to start her work soon, so Kurono's action brought everyone back to reality.
"Well, since we've come to this situation… Shizune, Rena-san. She is Furukawa Yuki." Kurono wanted to take the moment to introduce Yuki to the mother and daughter duo, he also wanted to try to explain that this was Yuki's normal attitude and that they shouldn't take it too seriously, but Yuki would interrupt that idea.
"I am Kurosawa-san's secretary, and what he said is correct. My name is Furukawa Yuki, it's nice to meet you both, and I apologize if I showed an attitude or said something that might upset you." To Rena and Shizune's surprise, Yuki had made a small bow as she seemed to be apologizing.
The tone of her voice hadn't changed at all, which made it hard to believe that she was being sincere in her apology, but when they saw Kurono nodding, they decided to believe her words.
"Okay, I also apologize for my attitude. I understand that Akio must be responsible, and he is, it's my fault that he was a bit late." Rena was embarrassed after saying all that since she realized that everyone was staring at her.
"Hehe, it seems you've matured, Rena." Shizune couldn't help but annoy her daughter now that she had the chance, and seeing her pout again after that was enough for her to feel satisfied. "We accept your apology, Yuki-san. Although it is not really necessary that you would have, by the way, thank you very much for your work, I am sure that you are of great help to Kurono."
Yuki's glasses fell slightly from her position and she had to quickly fix them, some strange thoughts were forming in her mind, mainly because of the woman in front of her.
She had heard Kurono call her to Shizune's name without some sort of honorific, which was already remarkable enough actually, but on top of that, Yuki used her sight to see Shizune's entire figure, and after a quick scan, she had her own opinion.
Shizune was a very beautiful woman, there was no doubt about that. Her physique indicated that she liked to exercise, although without exaggerating too much. Some of her features were quite similar to Rena's, so Yuki thought it was some relative of hers, probably her mother from the feeling around them.
An aura of tranquility was present in her surroundings, and the sincere smile on her face matched it perfectly. Yuki wrote down all these data in her mind, maybe that wasn't too relevant, but when she concentrated a little more... A feeling of defeat completely invaded her since she couldn't help but compare her figure with Shizune's.
If Yuki considered herself a mere dune in the desert, then Shizune was a mountain that stood proudly hiding the early morning sun… Or maybe it was better to say two mountains…
Kurono felt his phone vibrate a bit and picked up the call while the whole situation continued to unfold, and once it was over, he got everyone's attention again.
"Akio-kun, I'll order a taxi for Shizune and Rena-san, please accompany them while it arrives." Kurono still remembered what had happened the night before, but he didn't want to lose his trust in the service that society provided him just because of that situation, besides, it was a lifeguard on many occasions.
"Is something wrong, Kurosawa-san?" Yuki was the first to ask for the reason for Kurono's sudden action.
"They called from the lab about some chemical tests that I ordered done a week ago, they were supposed to be ready today. They just called me and I need to go check them personally." The previously relaxed feeling that Kurono conveyed had vanished at that moment, now his seriousness regarding his work was noticeable, which made both Akio and Yuki unconsciously fix their posture waiting for some instruction. "Make sure that there are no problems on the journey for both her, Akio-kun. In an hour I will go to your work area to resume the design of your project, I hope you have thought about all the points that I told you that you should take into account."
"You can be sure of that, Kurosawa-san!" Akio's voice was loud and clear, there was not a hint of doubt, so Kurono was calm.
"Yuki-san. Put on my desk the files of the last two weeks on logistics routes, I remember seeing something that bothered me. Also all the reports I haven't reviewed yet, and inform me of any appointment or meeting that really needs my presence, if you think you can handle it, you have permission to introduce yourself on my behalf." Kurono had turned his attention to Yuki. His instructions were precise as if he had been rehearsing them for a long time, but Yuki knew that this was not the case.
"I'll make sure I have all that information when you get back to your office. The reports are already organized and reviewed, and there has been no news of any urgent meetings other than the job interviews." Yuki adjusted her glasses again after giving that quick report.
Kurono nodded after hearing everything, it seemed that everything was resolved, so he said goodbye once more to everyone before advancing inside the building with his own thoughts, and although he was not aware, he had left behind him a feeling that is difficult to explain.
