Shizune had just opened the front door without much trouble and went inside to turn on some lights inside, after that she went to the living room to wait for Kurono, although she felt a bit strange since he had been late in coming back... But that slight concern would disappear quickly the moment she heard the door close.
"Shizune?" Kurono took a quick look inside his house before asking about Shizune since he hadn't seen her.
"I'm in the living room!" Shizune didn't take long to raise her voice a little so that Kurono could hear her and he too headed toward the room.
"Hello again." Kurono stopped caring what had happened before once he saw Shizune's beautiful smile.
"Hehe, hello to you too... Did something happen outside?" But unlike Kurono, Shizune unhesitatingly showed that little curiosity.
"It was nothing, I forgot I didn't have change and I had to bother the taxi driver a bit with it." Yes, Kurono had lied easily, but he had no interest in Shizune knowing about that little situation that, according to him, should already be solved.
Shizune nodded at Kurono's explanation and didn't ask anything else, so he was finally able to relax on the sofa, plus Kurono had also sat next to her, so it was quite a nice moment.
"Tired?" Kurono's voice returned from being heard by Shizune, and that simple question served to start a conversation between them.
"Just a little, maybe I spent most of the train sitting down, but that's still a bit tiring, I think you and Akio got the worst of it, I'm sorry about that..." Shizune had dropped her head onto Kurono's shoulder and also put her legs up on the sofa while saying all that.
"Don't worry, in the first place, we offered to carry everything that was really heavy." Kurono perfectly felt Shizune's movements and he supported his head with hers while he took her hand at that moment.
"I know, it's just that I don't like to ignore that... I don't want you to end up like poor Akio..." Shizune's expression turned a little nervous as she realized that, instead of thinking about it, she had said the idea that was on her mind… Which had made Kurono laugh out loud at that.
…
…
…
"And what is your plan this time?" Akio caught Rena's attention once he was sure that both Shizune and Kurono had completely withdrawn.
"Plan?" Rena had a sincerely confused expression due to Akio's question.
"I'm not going to believe that you gave them that idea by pure chance." Akio really couldn't believe Rena, and that was because he knew her incredibly well.
"Can't I be nice?" Rena started to refute Akio's words, but the serious look that her husband was giving her made her unable to hide it anymore. "Okay, it's nothing strange. It's just that during the trip we were very busy and always in everyone's company, you and I know how mom and Kurono-san's relationship is, so I'm sure they need their own alone time."
"That..." Akio had to say that he was impressed because Rena had a good reason this time. "Sometimes I forget how much you really love mother"
"Hey, on what terms do you have your beautiful and loving wife?!" Rena felt a bit outraged by Akio's image of her, but the whole atmosphere of that situation would quickly fade because something more important was about to happen.
Rena was already approaching Akio to teach her a little lesson, but as she advanced, she stopped abruptly as she bent down slightly and touched her belly with both hands as her face turned slightly serious.
"Rena!" All of this was seen perfectly by Akio and he didn't hesitate for a second to approach Rena. "What's wrong, perhaps...?"
"Shhhh..." Rena felt how Akio's figure had quickly approached her and then she heard his screams next to her ear, so she had to put her finger in front of her mouth while making that small sound that told him to be quiet.
Akio didn't immediately catch that sign as he was starting to worry a lot, but it wasn't long before all those complicated feelings subsided like a small pond.
Rena had taken Akio's hand and placed it on her belly so that he understood what was happening, which had caused Akio to widen her eyes and kneel to get even closer to his wife's belly.
"I think this is the time it makes it so abrupt, I'm sure his energy comes from your family." Rena's words were referring to the small movements that she was now feeling in her belly, she could relate that to the kicks that her baby gave her from time to time, but that itself was something that could not be missed.
Rena had said that to get Akio's attention again, but only a sigh could come out of her the moment she saw her beloved husband.
Akio was keeping as silence as he could while he did not take his hand off Rena's belly since he was feeling all those movements, a huge and warm smile was on his face, and that made Rena laugh a little, but she also had a lot of warm feelings that she didn't know how to define.
Rena patted Akio's head a bit at that moment, their situation was really unique, and they knew that, but leaving all that aside, happiness alone was enough for them and made them aware that they needed to continue striving for the future.
"Well... how about we think of a name tonight?"
