After landing at a port on a cliff overlooking a canyon, Colonel Lyn was greeted by a pair of Szczcn-ians. They looked like alligators if alligators walked upright and had a hunch back. They stayed silent at her side as they whisked her from her ship through an underground entrance.
The walls of the prison were unsurprisingly made of stone. The same grey rock that seemed to encase the rest of the planet. Colonel Lyn expected no better from something designed and built by Szczcn-ians. In her opinion, they were the most unimaginative creatures in the universe and they exemplified it with a language that had no vowels.
"Hey, tell me a joke," Lyn said to one of her escorts but they ignored her request.
"Mockery will not serve you well here," it replied.
The sign on a large sliding door said 'Warden Dooshima'. The name had vowels so that meant a different race. Inside the office were holographic replicas of famous artworks of fish. The lights were dimmed and water tanks with various exotic aquatic wildlife provided most of the illumination.
The warden had a long snout, bulbous eyes and webbed feet.
What was a Nemoidian doing all the way out here?
"Greetings, Lady," the warden said. "I read your orders, this be much fun. We have man in shackles all day, we finally get to ask him questions, yeah?"
His Basic was bad and only barely comprehended by Colonel Lyn.
"I want him unshackled when we meet," Colonel Lyn said calmly.
The gills on his head flailed wildly and his eyes rapidly opened and closed.
"Are you crazy woman?! " the warden screamed. "He eat you whole, like salmon."
Colonel Lyn was unfazed.
"And no matter what happens, no one is to raise an alarm or rush to my aid," she continued.
The Nemoidian stared and blinked twice while his mouth slowly closed.
"Ok Lady, but It's your funeral," the warden said. "I no come with you. I live."
He instructed the guards to do as she asked before they escorted her out of the strange office.
