Chapter 73 - A Message for The Finch

Jack tilted his head to the side in amusement. He tried to laugh but the dust in his mouth only disturbed the outcome. He said, 'Do you think you can kill something with no soul, Anonymous?' He coughed a laugh, 'You're definitely as dumb and pathetic as your mother; a useless tramp running in the storm, with no direction. I guess it's like mother like son, right? You pompous son of a hag!'

Brendan now felt so much hatred spinning inside him. 'This…is for Ernest Sparrow; his blood shall be appeased by yours!!' He started beating Jack's belly repeatedly using his knees making him spit out more dust onto Brendan's leg. He gave him a violent head butt on his functioning eye and it twitched in pain. He then started punching him in the face with his left fist. He gave him at least eleven punches before he started using his elbows, landing at least five in his face.

Jack's face was now unrecognizable. His functional eye started twitching more violently now.

'And this…is for my mom! Your mouth does not deserve to speak of her again, you worthless demon!!' Grabbing his wrist, he began whirling Jack's body like a ragdoll as fast as he could then he threw him in the direction of the warehouse. 'Let's see you survive that one, you blabbering dog!!!' He shouted.

Jack fell through the roof of the warehouse and the roof followed closely behind him then on top of him.

Brendan used his super speed again to get to the warehouse. Jack was now buried under a large pile of rubble. 'Got anything smart to say now, Jack?' he teased as he dug through the rubble with his hands. He finally got to him. He was lying on a plank and Brendan grabbed him by his hair, 'Tell me how I can kill you, then maybe death will save you from the further pain I could deliver upon you.'

Jack wanted to laugh but his strength was failing him. 'Only a true Versatile, Canine or Girol can destroy me. This means you lied to me. You haven't had your vision yet,' Jack's whispered in anger.

'But your fear can't be reversed, can it? There has to be some way I can kill you, or maybe you still want me to toy with your feeble body some more?'

He coughed but the sound was drenched with weakness and wet mud in his mouth. 'There's…there is no other way.'

Brendan threw him violently to the ground and began to walk away.

'Come back here, boy,' Jack hardly mumbled, 'I'm not through with you yet.' Surprisingly, he stood up. He looked like a twig that had been soaked in a bucket of mud. He gathered the last of his remaining strength and began to spin around in an attempt to form his previous human miniature tornado. He began slowly but then began to gather momentum, making his way towards Brendan.

Brendan stopped in his tracks and turned around. He stretched out his arms in welcome, 'Come on, Price! Do your worst!' he shouted. As soon as Jack was close enough, Brendan gathered all his strength and swung his right fist at him, punching him in the mouth, the force throwing him to the wall again but this time breaking through, his body landing on the ground a few feet from the point of impact.

'I don't think you'll be able to move for another forty years, Jack!' he mocked him. 'I'll come back to finish you off when I'm done with the Finch. If by any chance you bump into her, tell her I'm ready whenever she is. Tell her that her human slaughter plans will have to be put on hold.' He walked out of the warehouse and as soon as he got out in the open, he used his heightened speed to get back home.
