Chapter 50 - CHAPTER FIFTY: HAS ANYTHING CHANGED?

(Whoah.... We're now here on chapter fifty. Do you enjoy my book? Give it a five star please)

Naysa walked into the apartment where Marina sat reading a storybook besides Pearl. Naysa looked nervous and uneasy as she looked at Marina.

"Sister, has anything changed?" She asked.

"What do you mean anything changed? And are you ok? Why are you this uneasy?" Marina asked.

"That's why am asking you if anything changed." She said.

"In this house, nothing changed. We just came back this afternoon. Did anything happen between you and Jemmy?" Marina asked concerned.

"What do you mean anything happened? Of course something... I mean nothing happened." Naysa stammered. "Pearl come here." She called Pearl who jumped off from the sofa and ran to her.

"Something about you isn't right." Marina said.

"Marina I don't know if I should be telling you this but..."

"But what? Did he break up with you?"

"No... But we went far. Something happened."

Marina looked at Naysa's panicked face and laughed out loud. "What did you expect? You two are in love right? If you went far, then I already happened and we can't correct it. And stop wearing that face you're making me worried."

Naysa walked to her side and sat down, sighing. She was shy after telling Marina what happened.

CASKEYS HOME

James was in the house with a group of eight burly men whom he had decided to work with. Roderick had decided to mind his business because James didn't want to drop the grudge even after his injury.

"Roderick hurry up." Diana stood impatiently in the living room. Today, she was going to show him around the Caskeys company since he would be expected to be in office after his graduation.

"Am coming." He called from his room. Soon he emerged in a black suit. He looked more manly and handsome.

"Roderick, make sure you be more careful." Old man Andrew said. After trying to make James change his mind, which proved futile, he decided to build his hope on Roderick who seemed more mature than his elder brother.

"I will grandpa." Roderick said. Diana and Roderick left. "Sister, I don't think of all this graduation stories are important. I mean, if I resume work, I want to be in office all day."

"You can attend the first half, then leave to resume work. At least you show yourself. Besides,Livia will want you by her side." Dian said as they entered the car and drove off.

The two arrived at the company and Diana walked Roderick around, finally letting him rest in his new office.

AT THE GRIFFINS

Ridden sat in his bedroom lost in thoughts. Of recent, Naysa had tried hard avoiding him even after he had told her the truth from his research. He didn't understand why she came to fall for Jemmy in a short period of time when he had tried to win her in so many years.

Well, all that wasn't the problem. Being the only child in the Griffins, he ha promised his parents that he will introduce his girlfriend to them during his graduation, hoping by that time, Naysa would have accepted him. Now everything was the opposite of what he expected. Even if she hadn't loved him yet, if she were still close, he would introduce her casually, then try to win her heart after school.

But she had grown distant avoiding him more often. Mrs. Griffins opened the door an walked in.

"Ridden what's wrong with you? Why are you locked in your room all day?" Mrs. Griffin asked.

"Am just ok. Mom, I need to call someone. I'll be coming." He dismissed his mother. Mrs. Griffin shook he head and walked out.

Ridden took out his phone and dialed Naysa's number. It went through and after the usual greetings,

"Naysa, I want you to do me a favour." He said.

"What favour?" Her voice came through. Though it was a phone call, Ridden still enjoyed her sweet voice.

"To meet someone on the graduation day. It's nothing creepy. I just want you to do it as a friend. You know I can't pretend I didn't have any at school." He said.

"Sure... Marina and I will be available ok? Anything for a friend, I say yes." Naysa laughed sweetly.

Ridden sighed, thanked her and cut off the reciever before walking to the living room where both hie parents say.
