"That? It's the single rose you send with a thank you letter." He said, unfolding the paper he had neatly kept on the table.
"Why did you keep it?" She asked.
"Because it was from you, and literally, a single rose means love at first sight. So you loved me at first sight." Jemmy smiled at her.
"That isn't funny." She smiled shyly.
" It isn't, but it's the truth."
PRESIDENT'S HOME
Clare held out a newspaper to the president Finn and his son Jace. Of recent, the Caskeys always ran the headlines. President Finn looked at the newspaper slightly frowning. Since when James Caskey shot Hank, there has been negative turn of events at the Caskey's.
Recently, the Caskey's Shine hotel was blown down, then James thrown out of the window and broke his arm and leg. He also had four missing teeth. Today, four Caskeys guards were down and one of the house pillars destroyed. What was not happening? Slowly, they were being reduced to nothing.
"I heard that every time Hank Grant's would feel bored, he'll go to the Caskey's to pass time." Clare said.
"Is that why he appeared there today?" President Finn asked, giving the newspaper to his son. Jace took the paper and skimmed through.
"This time round James played the wrong card." Jace said. "Huh! Four guards badly injured by one person. We're they not armed?" Jace asked.
"Guns aren't everything Jace. Before Caskeys hotel blew up, one of the Grant's had injured almost ten armed men single handedly." Clare said.
"Dad, you know why I told you earlier about the email message? Thank God they probably didn't take it serious. We would be in the same shoe as the Caskeys." Jace said.
"Will you shut up? This is why I sent the email. Right now, Hank is officially registered into politics. " President Finn said.
"He can turn the whole nation upside down." Clare said, closing her eyes. President Finn didn't say anything. Jace sighed and walked out. The whole political issues seem out of control.
AT THE CASKEYS
Old man Andrew could not lament enough. Everything that happened was far worse than the first one. Right now, whatever was happening to the Caskey's company, which was initially the H.H company was making him run mad.
"Hello Mr. Andrew Caskey, The Roberts are terminating the contract with the Caskeys."
"Mr. Andrew, you have offended someone you shouldn't have offended, The Peters are terminating the contract."
"Sir... We have been threatened. If we don't terminate the contract, the Rowers will be shut down forcefully."
The calls kept coming. The Caskeys wouldn't understand what was happening.
"Hello... The Weyners are terminating the contract." Mr. Weyner, Livia's father said.
"Mr. Weyner wait, why are you terminating the contract? What's happening?" Mr. Andrew asked. The only person who could offer an explanation was Mr. Weyner since his daughter and Mr. Andrew's grand son were lovers.
"Mr. Andrew, am sorry but Hank Grant's personally called and gave us two options, we either terminate the contract or he buys the whole company."
Now everyone cast ugly glances at James who was still wrapped in bandages. James snorted and looked away.
"See the results of your carelessness." Diana said angrily. The pillar was still being repaired and they had a billion of almost a thousand to pay at the hospital for the four injured guards. All in all, all the blames landed on James who was the first to llok for Hank's trouble.
"Diana, you of all the people should not be talking ok? Your beauty is useless if it can't even deserve a glance from the Grant's." James snorted at his sister.
"What did you say?" Diana shouted.
"Will you two shut up? James, all this is your fault. We're it not for your stupidity, we would be talking of something else. The real politics is not set yet, but see the future of the Caskeys. We'll be reduced to nothing in a few months time." Old man Andrew barked.
"As long as am safe. My graduation will be in a few months time, don't even dare tell me you can't show up in fancy cars because of what James did." Roderick said. He was enraged because Livia's father had terminated the contract. Of all the people, Mr. Weyner was expected to stand by the Caskeys in good and bad as their prospective future in laws, but they had did what other outsiders did.
"Don't even think of a fancy graduation. That isn't an achievement yet." James said Mockingly.
