Chapter 35 - CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE: PEARL IS THE AUDIENCE

Naysa bit her lower lip hard. Though she wasn't sure, but what Ridden said seemed to make sense.

"Think about it carefully." Ridden finished and walked away.

Naysa stared at the disappearing figure of Ridden. She then turned to Marina who simply shook her head. Seth was already gone and the crowd had dispersed. Everything seemed gloomy.

"It's time for class Naysa." Marina said.

"Am leaving." Naysa sighed. She needed to think of another way out of this whole Grant's dramas.

"Why?" Marina asked.

"Rina I need to think. You can go to class."

Marina looked at Naysa's frowned face and left without asking for more. Naysa roughly picked up Pearl and left. The motorcycle had been driven home earlier so she took a taxi.

WEYNER'S HOME

Livia lay in her bed silently lamenting over the events at the Caskeys Shine hotel. Roderick had called her and told her his brother had a broken limp and arm. Naysa had been rescued by Jemmy who injured James and his men. Three men had died. What a bad luck!

Charles Weyner, Livia's brother walked into her bedroom. He had been at the Weyner company when his father called him about his sister's slight injury and had come to see her.

"Sister, I heard about your injury." Charles said.

"Mmh... Brother it happened so fast." Livia said.

"Did I, or did I not tell you to stop your silly relationship with Roderick? The Caskeys will only bring bad luck to you. You'll find yourself in more difficult situations if you don't take care." Charles sat on the chair next to the bed.

"I don't understand why you..."

"What don't you understand? His brother James shot Hank Grant, do you think the drama ends now? The Grant's will reduce them to zero." Charles said.

Meanwhile:

Naysa walked into her apartment, stepping hard and angrily on the floor followed by little Pearl who looked gloomy after Naysa picked it up roughly and almost kicked her while in the elevator.

Naysa lay in her bed for a about two hours before she finally decided to cool her mind by playing the quitar. She took the lyric book she had bought earlier and sat on the sofa, her fingers moving on the strings. Pearl lay next to her silently as if listening.

What really happened? We're Ridden's words true? As she played the guitar, she tried thinking about what happened and what Ridden said.

Suddenly, Pearl jumped from the chair and walked to the door.

"Pearl will you listen to the music or should I force you to?" Naysa called it but it kept scratching at the steel door. "Pearl come back here and listen ok? You're the audience."

Naysa went to pull it back, but as soon as she placed it back to the chair, Pearl jumped back to the door.

"What's our there?" Naysa opened the door.

Stenson had heard Naysa call out to Pearl and tell it it was her audience and almost laughed out. What Naysa didn't know was, when she left Jemmy's castle, she was being followed secretly. Stenson was hear because he was told Naysa had left the school and was back to her apartment.

"Stenson... Why are you here?" Naysa asked, unusually rude.

"Umm... Jemmy is concerned about you happiness so here," he held out a key to her.

"Stenson, can you tell me the truth?" Naysa asked.

"Truth about what?" Stenson was surprised.

"What's Jemmy's motives towards me? Was all the events at the Caskey's planned?" Naysa asked.

"Madam, I can't explain anything. Hank planned to bomb the Caskey's Shine hotel yes, but all that caught Jemmy unaware." Stenson said.

Naysa grabbed the key and looked at Stenson, unsure of what to say next .

"Madam, am waiting downstairs."

Naysa didn't get in to change, she followed Stenson into the elevator, leaving the sad Pearl behind.
