Chereads / BlackLight: The Last War For Humanity / Chapter 9 - Determination Has It All

Chapter 9 - Determination Has It All

The malevolent creature forcefully shattered the village buildings, crashing through the series of them. It landed in the very same structure where Zen had been. The creature's claws dug deep into the ground, granting it a flawless landing, while Zen struggled to regain his footing, clutching his sword for support.

"Hyahahaha!" The Rakshas laughed cunningly, "This is gonna be fun, huh?!"

"G-Gah... Sure... This is very fun." Zen smirked towards the Rakshas as he looked up, pinning his sword into the ground to stand up on his knees.

Amid the chaotic scene, Zen's head flowed a stream of crimson blood created from the wound by his crash, he attempted to steady himself. The Rakshas looks at Zen's determination to steady up again, after surviving the hideous injury.

"That's a feast... Two swords-men... and one of them this good! I am so excited...!" The Rakshas lured his tongue out from it's mouth by the fantasies of eating sword-men.

"A-argh."

"If you're done with your day dreaming here... let's have you dead already." Zen stood up completely as his stance toughens up.

"Imagine..."

He loosened his grip on the sword's hilt, attempting to put a show of flashy sword spinning. He twirled the weapon through his fingers, but a misstep caused the sword to unexpectedly soar through the air, slipping from his hands.

"Trash-talking, instead of actually fighting."

The sword which was in air started to fall down to the ground, as Zen made contact with the handle by his foot and kicked shot the handle, aiming it horizontally towards the Rakshas's head.

The powerful shoot approached the Rakshas like a beam, as he moves aside and dodged the missile. The sword is penetrated in the wall. The Rakshas looks towards the stuck sword, as he looks back towards Zen's direction only to find him disappeared.

He looked back towards the Sword which had been gone, as his eyes slightly moved a little down as he could notice the same blade approaching swiftly towards his neck. Zen had already pluck out the sword and made a move as he had gotten closer by the first move.

The iron steel is blocked by sharp razor claws which interfere between the contact of Zen's blade and the Rakshas' neck.

"Oh?" Zen expressed.

The Rakshas wards off Zen's blade by pushing his claws against it, as he prepares a dashing stance. It set out with a charged tackle towards the swords-man. Zen was ready to face it.

"You're all so unoriginal with the claws," Zen taunted,

"They slice your guts better than anyone else's!" The Rakshas excitedly replied,

A sonority of clashing echoes filled the air as they plunged into a fierce combat encounter. Sword and claws clashed repeatedly, with the Rakshasa's assaults gaining momentum and seizing the advantage with each passing moment.

All of a sudden, Zen had received multiple cuts on his arms and limbs, as he felt a pressure pass through his body. He looks behind and notices the wall has been crushed and crumbled due to a great pressure.

The Rakshas backs off and dashes to shoot a kick in Zen's abdomen, as he pushes him far away with wind pressure. The Rakshas laughed as he noticed his feet cut off and bleeding, our swords-man guard must have been down but he never backs off without taking something from the other.

The monster regenerates his foot quickly and attempts to smash open Zen's stomach again.

"High jumps and pressurizing attacks! He's a wind user!"

Zen immediately moves aside and dodges the attack as the wall behind him crumbles and cracks. He instantly charges towards the Rakshas with his sword again as lightning formed upon his blade and blessed it with sparks.

Once more, their weapons clashed, sending shockwaves of wind and sparking lightning with each connection. Sensing the growing threat, Zen quickly retreated, gathering his energy for a powerful strike. In a burst of electricity and intensity, he unleashed a formidable bolt towards the Rakshasa, using his first stage of Lightning Arts.

The Rakshas was unbothered and had deflected Zen's lightning strikes and sword slashes with powerful gusts of wind. With a proud stance, the creature swung its arms repeatedly, conjuring a barrage of devastating wind attacks.

Zen's eyes widened with the realization of approaching danger. Swiftly, he began to maneuver around the room, using parkour techniques to evade the deadly wind claws that were closing in on him, he bounded across the floor and the walls to avoid their deadly reach.

Zen quickly turned back as he swung his sword heavily pressured into the air and released many wind bursts attacks of his own which deflected the others. Some of the wind attacks still hit into Zen as he gets injured and lost his balance, falling to the ground.

"Man I've gotta finish this fast, it's getting annoying now."

In a surprise move, the Rakshas unleashed a devastating wind attack, which Zen had encountered the first time. Caught off guard, Zen found himself in a vulnerable position as the Rakshas prepared to direct the powerful assault toward him.

Zen sluggishly notices the attack as it almost makes contact with him, he attempts to dodge it by dashing to another direction but the insane reach of the blow had already covered the entire room.

He used lightning attacks in his favor to counter back the pressure of the opponent, which only slightly worked. The demon had already unleashed the second variety of this attack which was a far worse deity attack upon Zen.

The wind formed in the room as it started to push and move to different and all directions, which was physically impossible to dodge. Zen's body receives several cuts yet again and he covers his eyes and head with his hands. The continuous attacks of wind filled in the room like water were impossible to counter.

"G-Gahh!! Argh!!" Zen agonizes in pain. His eyes roll up as he was about to pass out, but the wind attacks suddenly stops as the high air density instantly becomes low in a moment.

Blood pumps out of Zen's ears and nose. The blood on his head had not been enough for the Rakshas's bloodlust and satisfaction.

As Zen pins his sword down to find support to stand, he notices a sharp point charging towards his eye. He reacted swiftly, lowering his stance to evade an incoming claw attack aimed at his head.

With a burst of energy, Zen leaped toward the Rakshas, his sword slicing through the creature's hand before landing on the ground and then severing its right leg.

"Even with these bruises... I'm not fucking done yet!" The anger which had been bottling up inside Zen had dwelled up and overflowed! "You, who kill innocent children for your own satisfaction must burn in the hell, which I will create."

Somehow, his voice had a pressure intense than any wind the Rakshas could create. He felt an insane presence upon him, the razor eyes which gazed him from a spiritual world. It was familiar to Zen. The voice he had last heard as a human, the pressure of it was the same as Zen's.

The Rakshas was reminded of...

"Takagi... R-"

The Rakshas, horrified and disturbed, launched a series of unpredictable and tricky attacks with its remaining claws.

Zen retreated, expertly dodging the attacks, and then used the walls to his advantage. He pushed his feet against the wall and launched himself horizontally.

The Rakshas penetrated its claws into the wall with the determination to get Zen, creating cracks. Spinning wind attacks created from the wall's crevices, forcing Zen to utilize his surroundings and leap around with acrobatic skills to avoid the deadly wind.

The wind attacks which overflow out of the room and the building had hit some of the lanterns shining with light in the other rooms. The shattered glass had been broken which kept the light contained in them, and the light had set out a fire in the entire building.

Zen and the Rakshas are surrounded by wild burning flames which bring the final end to this fight, with the intense atmosphere and the burning walls, Zen could not use the support of walls to parkour anymore. Even the Rakshas had been bleeding. They're surrounded by hell flames in this fight.

As they fought, there was a lot of noise which woke up the villagers from their sleep and the citizens noticed the structure on fire, and screams coming from the inside.

The Sun is about to rise soon.

Zen suddenly appears in the Rakshas' view, as he faces him directly from the front. In a desperate attempt, he swung his sword towards the Rakshas' neck, being in the same desperate situation, the creature instantly regenerated it's second arm as it launched directly towards Zen while in the process of regeneration.

The Rakshas' newly regenerated sharp claws shot toward Zen's head with incredible speed. The boy displays an intense skill of balance and agility, he skillfully dodged the deadly attack by lowering his upper body and bending backward, almost evading the shooting strike.

The Rakshas had gone insane due to the rage of being trolled, as it's hand which completed the shooting attack did not require another heavy charge, instead it directly just moved down in intense speed to slice Zen in half.

"DIE ALREADY!!!!" It yelled in rage.

Zen reacted in a flash and denied to hesitate as his sword flowed thoroughly with heavy wind and lightning, he dashed up to the Rakshas's directions, cutting his body from several areas and a pattern of a lotus forms through the blood which flowed out of the cut areas.

The cuts were made by patterns and sharp slices of winds which had been leaving behind from Zen's dash, as he stands behind the Rakshas.

"Wind Arts... First Stage."

"Wind Lotus."

The Rakshas turns back dashing as he did not find Zen behind him again, and only reached to a wall. He looked back towards the front as Zen seized the opportunity, sprinting toward the Rakshas and wielding his heavy wind sword, he uses his own mastery of wind arts, Zen charged the power of the wind to create a pressurized slash.

He slammed the Rakshas into the wall, unleashing a ferocious assault that left the creature struggling to recover.

He found the perfect opportunity to severe the demon's neck, but is blown away to the other side of the room by the intense wind pressure the Rakshas shoots from his mouth. It screams and screams as Zen is pushed further back.

"Lightning Arts! Third Stage!"

With a surge of energy, Zen charged his sword with a great amount of lightning, then hurled it toward the Rakshas. The sword began to spin wildly as it shot in the direction of the demon's neck. However, the Rakshas recovered quickly from the wall and dodged the attack by getting back into position just in time.

The electrified sword, now transformed into a lightning shuriken, sliced through the walls of the building and was thrown out of the structure, disappearing into the distance.

The Sun slowly rose, as the fire spread even more and more around the room, the black smoke built up and it was suffocating to breathe.

The villagers noticed Zen's lightning shuriken launch randomly out of a building.

"W-Woah!?"

"What is that?!"

"A lightning Rakshas?!"

"O-Oh no! We're g-going to die?!"

The Rakshas menacingly walked towards Zen through the flames as Zen stood tired on the ground, disappointed with his last chance.

"M-My sword..."

"You messed up your last strike, boy. It's time for you to meet the same fate as others."

Lightning formed around Zen's feet.

"You, who tells me to meet my final fate..."

"Have no idea, of what you have trapped yourself in."

The sword which had travelled a long distance outside, slowly starts to change direction, which shocks the villagers.

The Rakshas's eyes widen as Zen dashed towards him with a great lightning tackle, and punches the fucking shit out of his face.

The creature is blown away back to the wall again, as it regenerates his jaw, he notices Zen running towards him again.

"Hyaha! You foolish humans who charge again and again till you don't give up!"

As the intense battle raged on, the fire spread deviously throughout the room, encircling Zen and the Rakshasa. The scorching flames added an element of danger to their already intensive atmosphere, creating an emergency.

Soon, The Rakshas' ears caught the approaching zaps of lightning, growing louder and more rapid with each passing moment.

To his horror, the sword that had been flung out of the building had somehow returned, charging back from the opposite side. It streaked through the air, relentlessly pushed itself in on the demon's neck, instructed to deliver a devastating slash to decapitate him!

"We, who are humans! We don't give up as we charge facing whatever is in front of us!"

"AND I, WITHOUT A DOUBT, WILL CHASE YOU TO THE VERY DEPTHS OF HELL TILL I DON'T END YOUR REIGN OF TERROR AND PUT AN END TO YOUR MONSTROSITY!"

"Because this tyranny..."

"IS SOMETHING, I WILL NEVER ALLOW!"

With lightning-quick reflexes, Zen caught the sword and pressed it against the Rakshas' neck, the blade slicing through the hardened flesh of the creature's throat.

As the fiery battle raged on, Zen's clothes ignited, adding to the intensity of the scene. The combination of the searing flames and the determined warrior left the Rakshas in a dangerous situation!

"H-Huh?! I-I am being severed?! B-By a child?! N-No, no, no, no! THIS CANNOT BE POSSIBLE! I WON'T BE DISRESPECTED! THIS HAS TO BE FUN!"

"ARRRGHHHHHHAAAAAA!!" The Rakshas with its life hanging in the balance, let out an anguished roar of rage.

It clutched Zen's shoulders with a fierce grip, its razor-sharp claws digging into his flesh as it desperately fought for survival. The intense struggle between the two reached a finale as they grappled in a final showdown

"LET GO OF ME!!!" The Rakshas' eyes rolled back into complete blankness.

"EVEN IF MY CLOTHES BURN ME TO ASHES, I WILL NEVER LET GO OFF MY SWORD!!" Zen screamed with a voice which recalled his determination!

"LET GO!!!" The Rakshas desperately attempted to remove him.

"HYAAAHH!!!" But the Hero won't give up.

Zen's mastery of wind arts converted to life, propelling him forward and lending him wide support. With an unexpected burst of force, the power of the wind shot an overwhelming pressure, shattering the wall behind the Rakshas as they fall out of the building into the air!

The villager's eyes had widened in extreme shock as they cheered for Zen to finish the Rakshas off.

Zen, hand tightly gripping his sword, remained locked in a life-and-death struggle with the Rakshasa, its neck exposed and vulnerable.

His feet crackled with the power of lightning as he launched himself into the air, descending like a thunderbolt toward the ground. With unwavering determination, he aimed to cut through the Rakshasa's neck. They drag against the harsh surface of the ground which breaks the bones of the Rakshas' body.

"I WON'T GIVE IN!!"

As the Rakshasa's final act, he unleashed a series of devastating wind bursts, these attacks were directly launched through the Rakshas' entire body which tore through Zen's humane structure, causing searing pain and destruction, yet his grip did not loose as the sword had reached half way through!!

They slide right between the village's road, surrounded by villagers which watched the final battle as yelled for victory. The Sun rays made the first contact with the ground as it started to burn the Rakshas away!

"N-NO! I WILL, SEVERE YOUR NECK, BY MY OWN BLADE! BEFORE THE SUN! BEFORE ANYONE!" Zen had become destined to behead the curse with his own hands!

"I WON'T LET YOU RAKSHAS LIVE EVEN IN HELL!"

Blood popped out of the eyes of the Rakshas.

In the critical moment when Zen's blade had reached halfway to decapitate the Rakshas, the creature unleashed its most devastating attack yet, a powerful force that sent Zen's body flinging backward.

"I WILL FUCKING TAKE YOU OUT WITH ME!!" The Rakshas screamed with his remaining mouth as his scalp had started to fade.

Zen clung to his sword, determined to finish the battle.

The Rakshas launched more series of the devastating blood hurling attacks!

However, the situation took an unexpected turn as Ryuzu stepped in between the two opponents and brought her own abilities. With swift and precise movements, she deflected the wind bursts of deadly wind attacks, her powers shielding Zen and neutralizing the Rakshas's final attempt.

"Zen!! DO IT! NOW, ZEN!!" Ryuzu screamed out in desperation.

"HYAAAAAHHHH!!!"

"LIGHTNING ARTS, SEVENTH STAGE!!"

His sword completes an entire arc of heavy lightning slash, which slams down the Rakshas inside the ground as it crushes and severs his neck. The lightning had generated into a horizontal vortex because of Zen's position also being perpendicularly horizontal.

The sword's swing cut through with a sharp flow. Its movement, swift and precise, carried a distinct and powerful sound that echoed through the ears of those who had yearned for it, it was...

The Sound of Victory.

As the blade completed its devastating arc, a brilliant explosion of electrical energy burst , illuminating the battlefield.

The sheer force of the attack was astounding, and to everyone's surprise, the blade slashed not only through the Rakshas's neck but also through the very earth beneath, leaving a trail of Zen's slash on the village's path.

Zen had achieved a remarkable victory, ending his first mission, as the Sun rays touched his sword, and shined a new day.
