Chapter 5 - The Stranger And The Snitch II

Luke sat on his grandfather's table reading through the 'Guide To Arda'. The book was written in a strange language called 'Quenya',and went on to explore the meanings of the words spoken in it and translations of English to Quenya, and so much more language stuff. Luke wasn't the linguistic loving kind of guy,so he didn't bother much to take a close look or read carefully through the book. He instead placed it on the table and turned to go through the 'Book Of Elvenology'.The book, too, introduced strange creatures called Elves, magical beings who dwell on Middle Earth, according to the synopsis at the back.Luke scoffed and shrugged, opening the book and deciding to read through it all.

Meanwhile.......

"What brings you here today,Alberic?"Gray asked, trying hard to sound playful. He was having a hard time doing that.He knew exactly why that Maiar was here."You're not here to take the boy,are you?" he sat down.

"I'm surprised by how you could be so wise to guess what brought me here,"Alberic said, calmly,"but couldn't guess what would happen to you when you wrote those books?" he sounded like he was mocking Gray.

"You're not going to bring that up,are you?"Gray asked, trying to figure out a way out of the conversation Alberic was soon going to start.Well,he knew exactly how to bring him away from that.....

"Oh,yes.I am.What? You don't want us to talk about that,"Alberic asked, the sarcastic hint of mockery never leaving his voice,"I am surprised. How could my own brother Aelfric defy the King's decree?Do you know that could cost me my prestigious life?"

Up until now, Alberic still dreamed of only his prestigious life.He never did care about anything but his own prestige, fame and life.

"I wonder. How could the King Of The Valar choose you,of all Maiar,to take care of his son,a prince? With that style of living, you couldn't bear to uphold his son,"Gray scowled at Alberic.

The two were actually brothers.Alberic, the older, and Aelfric, the younger. The both were Maiar, servants of the King Of The Valar, but Aelfric got cast out of Arda for defying the King's decree to not tell the human race that the Elven kind still existed. But Aelfric didn't tell them,he only told them a story of their history, only told them where they came from and the hardships they underwent.

"Do you dare to underestimate my capability to take care of the prince?"Alberic sounded angered, gnashing his teeth.Gray/Aelfric said, with a slight smirk,"Oh yes,I do!You wouldn't dare to make him a changeling if you had the capacity to take care of him!"

"Enough, Aelfric!!"Alberic almost roared. He was now very angry.Alberic was the kind to get very angry once you underestimated his capabilities or capacities. He would easily get riled up."The King Of The Valar, himself, gave his approval for his son to be raised in the Real World!!"

"Oh,I see!"Gray nodded sarcastically, mocking that old man again.Gray didn't really love to do that to his brother but Alberic was so much a catastrophe,he deserved it anyway. Alberic seethed with anger,he nearly steamed like a steam engine,"Do you dare to disagree??"he hissed.

"Oh no,I don't!"Gray raised his arms in total agreement, making one of his mocking faces.

"Well, then!Give me the boy,and I will rest my case!"Alberic sat down after he had nearly slammed into Gray, while his blood boiled with anger and resent.

"Are you sure you need the boy?You know very well it could be dangerous, and I am worried for Arda's sake!!"Gray asked, leaning back onto his chair."That is not a concern for you.Just get me the boy,and if he wishes,His Majesty will forgive you for what you did!!" Alberic hissed.

"Okay then.I will have something to write about if that boy remakes the history of Arda."Gray stood up to go and get the boy.

Gray had no choice but to agree though he loved that boy very much.He had to give up custody of the Prince Of The Valar,so atleast His Majesty could let him see his family back in Arda,if he wished, just in thanks for taking care of the boy.Gray, also, had to let the boy meet his people, since he was entitled to meet them, and perhaps save them.

Luke sat on his grandfather's wing chair reading through that book.It had ensnared his interest. He couldn't help but continue to read through this book, since it kept getting more and more interesting.

"You like that book, for sure?"a familiar voice came from nearby.Standing in the doorway was Grandpa Gray.He looked sad and happy at the same time.Luke quickly jumped up,"Erm,yes!Yes,I do!!"he stated, slamming the book shut.

"The time has come, sonny!" Grandpa Gray said, walking into the room.Luke was perplexed,"The time for what?"he asked.

With a sigh, Grandpa Gray walked into the room.He stopped before Luke and looked him in the eye."The time for you to leave!"Grandpa Gray stated, simply.

That perplexed Luke the more. What was he talking about?Where was he leaving to?Were they chasing him off the farm?Luke didn't understand a single bit of that simple statement."What....what are you talking about?"he almost bit his tongue in surprise.

"You don't belong here, sonny. And the people,to whom you belong have come to fetch you!!"Grandpa Gray said, patting Luke's shoulder.

Luke couldn't believe his eyes. Please tell me this is a joke,he prayed. But that didn't come.

"What?I don't understand. What are you trying to say, Grandpa? What is all this? Please stop messing around with me!"

"I never did have the courage to tell you,but the one who has come for you will tell you everything you need to know.He will give,to the questions I can't, answers. He is going to tell you all I can't tell you!"Grandpa Gray sounded calm. How could he be so calm?

"What...what do you mean??"

"You are going to meet your kindred, and he will take you to them. You might be able to forget all about us,just in case that portal works its magic but that doesn't mean I won't be with you.You should know very well that I will always watch over you,no matter what or where" Grandpa Gray said, calmly. He didn't even flinch at the thought of losing his grandson.

"What?I'm not leaving you, Grandpa!"Luke said, hesitating. And by the way, where was that man he was talking about. He should warn him to stay away from Luke lest he loses a head.

"You have to go,sonny. It is not safe for you out here in the human world but I assure you,you will be safe in your world, though it might not be safe enough."

"No, Grandpa!I'm not going anywhere. You heard me!"Luke stomped his foot on the ground to affirm his words. Grandpa Gray sighed,"Then I have no choice!" he said.

Suddenly,a man, about his age appeared, out of thin air.He had long silver hair and amber eyes.He was clad in long silver robes and a cloak, green in colour, hang loosely from his shoulders.

"I see you have done a good job taking care of the boy."He sneered, waltzing towards Luke.

"Hey,you!Stay away from me and my Grandpa!!"Luke issued a warning for the man, shooting the sharpest glare he could muster

"You have taught him your attitude, too,Gray!"he smirked, looking at Grandpa Gray with a playful smirk.

"Who is he?"Luke asked, but stopped midway to ask when a bright blue light suddenly filled the room.Shielding his eyes,Luke let out a slight grunt.

"Go with him!"he heard Grandpa Gray say, before someone, more like something, pulled him into the blinding lights. And suddenly,he felt as if every fragment of him was ripped apart as he was sucked by something, probably that light.
