"So what did you think?" Rebecca asked me at the Friday night meal.
"It was different from what I expected," I answered.
"How so?"
"In Prandia, I only got to attend temple services once, while pretending to be human. It was a holiday, so the temple was full. Families sat together. The priests led the service as a group, and the congregation didn't have prayer books, so they followed along by heart. Everyone brought sacrifices, and the priests slaughtered them and cooked them, and then gave us all a taste, so that we could share in the blessings of the gods.
