"Why are you waking me at this ungodly hour?" Leon grumbled while a cow-kin whose clothes seemed to be barely hanging on to her ample body served him tea. When she looked at him there was an adoring look that I hadn't seen before.
"I was informed that someone framed me of being a Diochi, and that the City Guard will be coming for me in the morning."
At the mention of the word "Diochi" Leon sat up straight. His eyes sharpened, and all hints of drowsiness vanished.
"By the gods, who would do such a thing?"
"You know who."
"That bastard! Hurting my Nila wasn't enough for him, so now he has to try to ruin you as well?"
I shrugged.
"Maybe it's revenge for catching his men, or maybe he's trying to discredit us before we can bring him to justice."
"So, what's the plan? How are you going to fight this?"
